Did anyone junior to you get Reserve? I'm sure you know that it is certainly possible to be too junior to hold reserve in some categories, especially WB in the winter...

SC question...

I put in an "If Needed" YS with prefences for SC times during the day and was instead given a SC from 2359-0859. How do I determine if CS followed the YS? I read the SRH where it says preferences will be considered in seniority order but do I just need to go looking through the Res Avail List and see who got what SCs to see if senior pilots got the daytime SCs?

Also does anyone know why these middle of the night SCs start at 2359 instead of on the hour? Is there some advantage for CS to have it technically in two days? TIA

Part 2; it's the only way to cover the 0400-0800 block. Because they can be assigned no earlier than 18 hours prior to the start, the earliest one can start is 0600. So they get around it by giving out a 2359 late start that covers the early morning banks. Of course, it's risky because there's no way I'm going to be rested to do a long day 1 with a 0400 show

Sort of. To add, key now is that SC can only be assigned the day prior, and that is done around noon. So yes, at noon the earliest they can assign anything is 0600 the next day. The latest they can assign a next-day start is 2359, hence the odd start time.

Yes...I'm just thinking about getting a call at 2am for a 6am show and thinking there's no way I'll get back to sleep after that.

Ok, makes sense. Thanks.

Happened to me and ended with a fatigue call because I couldn’t get back to sleep.

Default PR days being denied

Other social media platform blowing up about company auditing PR days in the bank. Apparently some are being told PR days no longer will add a PB day if it’s in the bank. It’s just lost. One guy posted his schedule with this in writing in the comments on his schedule.

Additionally, company has “audited” past PR days in bank and are going back in and taking them away. Also some cases of taking back the pay from people who flew on a PB day from their bank that originated as a PR.

Anyone here seeing this happen?

The usual suspects are suddenly silent which is a bad sign. They played the same game concerning short calls and CNO.

Happened to a squadron mate. He had already used the PB days on trips, so they went back and took all the pay from that. He only found out because he noticed his check was short and looked into it. He called scheduling then CPO, not sure where it sits right now. They said they audited all of last year and I'm guessing they're saying he isn't owed the PRs. It's quite amazing how much they appear to be going out of their way to anger the pilot group even more.

Huge deal if true. Hopefully the union fights this tooth and nail.
