Default DH-only day 1

Say I'm on LC for 3 days and accept a 2-day GS with less than 18-hrs to report. If Day 1 is DH to a layover and day 2 is flying back to base, do I get any extra pay above guarantee or is this a reserve GS trap?

You’ll get either the DH pay, or 2 hours duty period minimum, whichever is greater, on top of reserve guarantee. Everything else is towards guarantee plus no PB days. Generally not the greatest move especially if it’s G#1.

Res GS <18 hours would be F#1. You are still in que for G#1. This can be a great technique to pick up premium pay when you are likely to be used on reserve. I've done F#X several times, once while on the plane commuting in for SC.

This is dead wrong. G and F fall under the same counter since they are both in base GS and are covered on the exact same step of coverage on the exact same ARCOS callout. The only difference is pay on the first duty period. F#1 = G#1.

Tennis is correct F#1 counts as G#1.

I need to review my paychecks. I thought I had F1 and G1. If so that was an error that deserves an ACE report

You probably did. I've seen quite a bit of mis-labeling of slips in the last year or so. Our schedulers are inexperienced and it shows big time.

How long can this excuse last? I don’t we have many on the team that have been there a year or less. Sure we had an influx of new blood, but that was a couple years ago. When do they start getting the basic skills and corporate knowledge that comes with experience?

Based on recent history, we know the excuse is good for at least a solid 5-6 years.
