While I completely agree, I think they have decided to take advantage of the word "may" WRT extra SC's. My understanding is that ALPA is engaging, but I'm not holding my breath.

Exactly. Verbiage matters.

And we have pilots who crap on other pilots who BFM the sick language in the PWA....the same types that show up with "it's just allergies." This company is not the gentleman's Delta of yore. They're going to pull every lever they can to lessen the impact of this contract, up to and including willfully violating the contract and wage theft via not fixing known and glaring issues with our pay. All this to say, this does not surprise me that they're just not choosing to "re-interpret" the language after they don't like the consequences of the contract. This is just one of the multiple examples that's happened in the last few years.

They are destroying so much goodwill. It feels like they've ramped up their reinterpretations in the last 12 months. If they do this during contract negotiations we can easily strike for status quo violations, right?

The way management has been managing and treating us lately really makes me believe that the vast majority of us wouldn't lift an extra finger to help the company out at all.

While we cant strike for status quo violations (even though the NMB would never let us any way) we can do union sanctioned work actions since we are outside of negotiations. Hats off? PANTS OFF?

Don't forget jacket off. They seem to love the jacket.

I prefer jacket and hat off, but I’m thinking about more days with my single breasted jacket on this year.

Personally, as soon as I see its double-breasted, I jacket off.
