Yea they are giving out 1-day short calls, but probably only to folks who don't have a golden X-day to follow. I see some 0800-1400 and 1000-1600 in the 1-day Reserve Availability groups.

Can they do that though if you bid it? Just give it to someone else because you have a golden x-day?

23.S.9.f. for those interested.
But I don’t think that precludes the award of a short call starting prior to noon. They just have to release you at noon. So I think it’s a PWA violation not to award a SC to a pilot with a hard non-fly coming after.

OK - Actual reserve question here. I have 3 days of a carry in trip and 3 days of CQ in January. If I understand the rules correctly this will not affect my number of x days but basically counts as 6 pre awarded work days. I ran the John Bell calculator and I think this is correct.
Am I missing anything here?
Thanks Scoop

This is derived from PWA 23.S.1.f. Note Three: Crew Scheduling may at its discretion bypass a reserve pilot in the one day of availability grouping for conversion to short call under Section 23 S. 1. f. if such pilot is scheduled for a hard non-fly day immediately following the one day of availability.
