They are published in the bid package, so one can only assume they are "set in stone" like any other rotation.

But are they "set in stone" so as to preclude any reserve assignment that might prevent you from sitting the awarded SC?

Because that is insane (-ly awesome) if there are no guardrails on bidding them. What are the guardrails anyway?

Excellent question. Since we are bidding via YS, I can only assume that CS will do what they always do...ignore everything.

"PWA 23. D. g. daily short call periods available for bid.
Note: A pilot may bid for an available short call period(s) to be awarded on a reserve line in PBS."

And yet, these are not available in PBS. According to the bid package, Yellow Slips must be submitted for these bid package short calls.

I doubt it, but I haven't looked into it. I'm still trying to figure out why my YS for SC was ignored, then deleted yesterday. On FB, someone said the union told them to look at the flt ops weekly update on 29Jan, but that seems to pertain to biddable SC for next month, not next day SC.

I saw that, but then how to do we bid for next day SC during that window?

They seem to have shoe-horned a new type of YS for these bid-package Short Calls that expire on the 19th of the month prior. I don't think it changed anything about current YS.

I think the new not-PBS-like-it-should-be-YS-instead slips should be called Brown Slips.

Key Reminders:
• Short Calls will be available to bid pre-month beginning with the bid window opening at 1800 on the 4th and will close at 0800 on the 19th, using the existing Yellow Slip request screen in iCrew. These requests will be deleted after Short Call awards are completed after the bid window closes.
• Any bids entered for a short call period will only be used with the pre-month award process.
• Pilots will continue to be able to enter regular Yellow Slip requests for short call periods as soon as schedules are released.

Ok, so you just bid for current SC and next month SC on the same page?

Just force it into an existing and obsolete tool, without respect to the month, nor the fact that a Reg Pilot can't input a reserve slip, becuse you "must Res at least one day".

Delta IT hard at work, 2+ years after being placed on the "to do" list...

Now I'm thoroughly confused. Do we, or do we not have PBS reserve SC bidding for MAR?
