If I was released from LC at 0559, and then awarded a GS that reports at 1300 that same day, would that generate a PB day? Or do you only get PB when an actual X Day is interrupted?

How are you legal with only 7 hours of rest?

PWA says only if an X day is interrupted. You will get GS pay for reporting less than 18 hours, but no PB.

That 30 minutes pre release schedule check. Do you guys actually log into iCrew or call CS to check? I'm trying to brush up on my RES knowledge and I don't think I've ever actually bothered doing this. I just check Micrew and drive on.
Micrew is adequate but not official. I check micrew and the only assignment is usually rest. After that I call crew scheduling but just check my schedule by the VRU automated "next duty" voice option. As soon as it says rest, I hang up so there's a record of my acknowledging a non-contactable status.(rest)

Could be a DH-only first duty period. Either way no PB day since even though it reports during rest the underlying day is still a LC day not an X day.

This is the way.

Just to make life easier, I added a bookmark to icrew on my home screen. So it's tap icon, tap autofill password, tap enter, tap OK to the "you haven't completed CQ yet" message, tap schedules, tap current schedule, enter PIN if needed, tap OK, screenshot, done. Takes about 20 seconds and saves the proof of purchase.

I was going to add that checking iCrew will stamp your schedule with a “last viewed” time, but this is wise.

Scenario:

Live in base, junior in my seat, on reserve. I despise early morning reports and would rather fly than sit a home and risk getting 5am garbage.

Would bidding SC help get later reports?

Maybe. Remember trips 2 days out are covered before SC is assigned. YS may be the answer you are looking for.
