Assume for a minute that you had 5 LC days after your PR day. With your current GS rotation you'd get 9 hours free from release (so 1600). You then lose 8 hours of PB "time" on that last day of the rotation to get to 0000, leaving you with 112 hours of additional time off due (24 x 5, then minus 8). If you start at 0730 on your PR day and add 112 hours, you'd end up with a PR day ending on the 4th LC day after the PR day that ends at 2330. So if you had no LC days following your PR you'd only get 4 PB days in the bank. Since you have 2 LC days that means only 2 in the bank. If you had released at 0736 instead of 0700 then you'd end up with a PR at 0001 on day 5 which would trigger the additional PB day.
So that's what this whole discussion has been about these last few pages. The company has changed past practice (of rounding up first) but their change more aligns with an example in the SRH. So what do you do? I'd just call scheduling and tell them you are missing a PB day since you have 2 LC days left and did a 5 day GS. Hopefully they don't dig too much into it and just add it for you. If they don't then file a crew assist case with the company. If/when that gets denied file an STS with ALPA.

Just to clarify, CS has officially changed their practice universally, utilizing a new 'tool'? Not only to cease 'rounding up' a PR, but also to actually dig into the internals of each 'other than midnight' PB/PR individually? Do I understand that right?

OK, so I just reread this post and tennis' post, and now notice you used past tense "developed". I haven't bid reserve much in the last year or so (about when they started the SC-palooza, but not because of it). So perhaps I have missed some current events on reserve.

Within the last two months I have been told by multiple people on the SC that the new calculator was wrong. Has this changed?

The latest version of the calculator is being vetted by the scheduling committee. It is correct except for some edge cases. It no longer adds PR times together. There will be comms in the future once the latest and greatest goes live. We’ve been pushing for and have been told that the PB day calculator will be published on Deltanet for pilots to use.

The calculator as it stands is still incorrect. It adds partial times together (not contractual). However, it, correctly, does not round up PRs to PBs and then apply the new PB/PRs.

Suddenly they’re pulling out all the stops to follow the letter of the contract? Sure wish they’d do THAT across the board!
