Something tells me this has to do with preventing senior to mid senior folks (who can easily bid between RES and REG and wash payback days) from getting said payback days somehow. Either by dissuading them from bidding RES altogether now that they know they’ll ACTUALLY be utilized or something else…. I can just feel it
On reserve this month. Several rests posted on weekends throughout the month. One dropped over last weekend. Because of the placement, appears to me they were posted to drive down reserve available to keep guys from dropping trips.

I don't give them that much credit....my category has been blue positive coverage every day for the last two bid months....they pre-post rest for every single person going into hard non fly day....still positive coverage everyday so people can still drop whatever they want.

I feel like it solves some problem internal to the scheduling shop....I don't know what that problem is, but I feel the "lets pre-post the rest" is the good idea fairy of a Sched Supervisor or maybe even HT herself, and they never really considered the secondary effects it would have on the pilots.

I mean, had they considered it, would they actually even care?

Question - had a GS on reserve where prior to report they changed the rotation. Confirm this is ineligible for reroute pay.

They will probably claim 23K, and yes you can get 23Kd on a GS.

Default Change DH to operate

On reserve, last day of rotation, two legs - first one operate, second was the DH. ACARS came through to operate the second flight now. Legal? Thanks

As long as you were notified before you set the brake on the last operating leg then it is legal.

I don't know, brother. I think the 'problem' internal to the scheduling shop may well be PB days (via Res GS, which we all know they hate with the fire of 1000 suns), driving the res available matrix lower, or something anti-pilot. It's a pretty big change to the way they have ever done things. It has to be for a reason. Regardless, it's total BS when you are #7 of 7 in a days-of-avail group and you get tagged with the trip.

You might be right, but I have a feeling it ain't for benevolent reasons. Maybe I've become a cynic...

There are those who argue once you have reached the TOD, you can and should ignore anything coming off the printer until you set the brake. It is, after all, behind your sight line.
