That's what I'm saying. I truly don't understand some of the WS and YS out there. I am even seeing junior guys YS'ing decent trips <18 hours to report on their friggin X days!

My guess is you only make that mistake once...

Or maybe the strategy is to get reserve full??? Which defeats the entire purpose of bidding reserve...

There are a few occasions where it makes sense. Maybe they are trying to fill up; perhaps they are trying to create a 30/168 conflict to have a day off they need. I could think of a few other scenarios, but getting upset with someone's strategy is silly.

I think you may be misconstruing my normal tone with being upset. Other peoples' slip strategies do not affect my blood pressure.

Don't learn that lesson the hard way...
Couldn't you still just have one white slip - which you would still roll every day - but that had trip parameters that covered MIN 01 MAX 05 day trips? Wouldn't that accomplish the same thing?

I wasn't referring to you but to the guys who get upset about not getting a Hypothetical GS when a reserve picks up something as a YS. Those are the same guys who get upset about not getting released for OE and have to go fly the trip they bid for.

That's the only one I can think of...so for a guy who can't hold a line who got unstacked on Xmas...yeah, this would be the month I would predict seeing that happen. I doubt you would see reserves YS'ing trips < 18 hrs outside of December.

Does this work? I know you can't move an X-day to cause a 30/168. Didn't know it worked for trips?

This. ^^^^

Absolutely do what is in your best interest however you judge that to be. Your seniority is your currency to do whatever you want. The PWA defines the rules for assigning and awarding trips. Everyone knows the rules or has access to them. This goes for the OOBWS et. all. If you want the rules changed your opportunity is upcoming. The rule book for the foreseeable future is written, learn how the game is played and play hard.

More FRMS SC periods. Some days they have enough to cover 100% sick calls.

CS is assigning FRMS trips that report 30' after SC starts. This is a setup for the SC pilot to show up at push and catch up airborne. This is the primary reason WB categories are exercising the Non Contact provision.

Can you imagine if the ATL A350 taxi incident involved a SC pilot in the above scenario. "Mishap relief pilot reported 5 minutes before pushback and was heads down reviewing M+"

I'm sure others will chime in with more detail.
