Well on the one hand that’s silly because literally every available pilot is “needed” for SC every day it seems 😭. But I do see the point, so maybe in the next contract we can add an “if needed, will waive 18 hours” slip. Not sure if that would work with how TC is currently run as you don’t show eligible for rotations with less than PWA required notice.

I got $5 bucks says the company interprets that to mean, "we can remove any future short call period by assigning a conflicting rotation, per the exception"....

I was assuming that's a legal assignment since I was technically on LC for a day and a half prior to my awarded SC?
They can remove it only for a PROPERLY assigned rotation. If they can't notify you because of rest then it's not assigned and they have to put you back on the SC. What happens practically is they give you the SCC and you don't do anything. (previously described above by tennis)

That's another thing I'm noticing. Last time I was on reserve they'd periodically assign rest around rotation assignments throughout the month. This month I haven't seen them put rest in my schedule a single time.

I think they learned their lesson on pre-assigning rest. They had people who responded during the rest with the interruption needing more rest and people not responding because they were not contactable. It burned several reserves that could have been useful.

Good thing they’re rolling it out to all fleets in September.

Maybe they found a work around that was never intended. The chess game continues. All while destroying goodwill. So be it.

Can you expand on what you mean by this?

I'm not seeing the problem here. If they assign you a 5 day immediately followed by 30 hours of rest, how does that burn them?
