My phone has been getting blown up since 0502 this morning. Weathers been fine.

I'm getting calls for IAs and I was out sick.

Called in well after the cleara time for a no fly med passed, and 9 ARCOS calls today.

Why is it melting down? No clue. Don't care.

I got dirt bikes to keep running and riders to feed this weekend.

The few of you who know what Unadilla is, I'm enjoying that madhouse.

I put car washing soap in my blinker fluid receptacle because I wasn't paying attention so you could say I'm also somewhat of a handy man myself 😎

So far, nothing crazy. Just been grilling and washing bikes.

One of the riders dad/mechanic is in the hospital so the other mechanics are handling the trackside stuff. I'm just doing the easy goon work to free them up.

You’re better at this than I am so I will yield the floor. But I don’t see any mechanism other than beginning at least 1 min of your “known” short call to get a short call credit.

If they pulled your one minute prior you’d still need 18 hours so nothing that I’m aware of in the PWA/SRH that prevents it…?

As long as you have 10 hours rest before a report today (or the rotation today starts with a DH-only duty period) then you can bid for a reserve with conflict rotation to drop tomorrow's assignment.

Fellow reservists:

I despise SC (I'm a commuter now.) However, what's the best way to bid SC if I'm already on SC on day 1? IOW, to cut back on commuting. IOW, if I'm in base anyway on SC, stay in base and SC the next day.

I'd still rather YS a rotation.

My stance has always been this - once I have been awarded or assigned a SC period, that is my last known obligation to the comany unless otherwise notified while on a contactable status. If the company chooses to remove a SC period once I am in pre-SC rest, I have no proper way to be notified of that and I start my SC at the assigned time. That's always been my discusion with them on the phone - you guys assigned me a SC period, and I sat SC as assigned. That in my mind warrants, at a minimum, one hour SCC for sitting a SC period and not being used. I can't just choose to not show up for a rotation assignment, and similarly I can't choose to not just sit a properly assigned SC period. That's on them for removing it without proper notification. Suit up pay is due for reporting to the airport for a removed rotation, and I've gotten them to give me one hour SCC for "reporting" for a removed SC. Once I even got them to retroacticely place the SC back on my schedule to count for one of my max for the month.

You can YS a SC that starts as early as 10 hours from the end of your first SC period. So day 1 bid say 1600-2159 SC (to be commutable) then YS a SC that starts as early as 0800 the next morning.

do you have to YS it specifically, or if you "think" you'll be used can you do the "IF NEEDED" YS option? Or does that not waive it 10 hours from the previous SC?

If needed requires CS to give you 18 hours. YS it specifically to waive 18 hours. Ask me how I know.
