This sounds (and is) lame, but in my mind tennisguru is reserveguru.

How do you think he had the time to get so good at tennis?

Question on 1 day SCs (haven't been on reserve in a while). I've tried to pick up a couple SC this month on my last LC day. I see them advertised on the Reserve Open Time menu, usually 2 or 3 for early mornings (0530, 0630, 0830, 0900 etc) , but they never get assigned. Not just to me, I check the reserve list when I don't get them even though I YS for it and none of the folks in the 1 day bucket are getting those SCs that were in open time

Normal or weird? Do they auto populate in open time and then CS decides whether to assign/award them or not?

Generally scheduling won't assign a SC to a RES going into a golden X day or a VAC day since that means auto-release from SC at noon. When I say "scheduling" I actually mean the automated SC system. Technichally people going into such days are required to be moved to the bottom of the conversion list, but the system just seems to exclude them entirely, even if they are the only legal pilots.

23.S.f.6
Note three: Crew Scheduling may at its discretion bypass a reserve pilot in the one day of availability grouping for conversion to short call under Section 23 S. 1. f. if such pilot is scheduled for a hard non-fly day immediately following the one day of availability.

And tennisguru, I believe it is 6am for the auto release now.

A LC pilot going into a hard non fly day is automatically released at 0600. A SC pilot is released at 1200. 23.S.8 vs 23.S.9.f

I've also had them bypass my YS for conversion to short call due to pre posted rest. It's happened when I have been in the 2 days of availability and 1 day of availability grouping. I can't find anything in the PWA that allows them to do that because rest is not defined as a hard non-fly day. It doesn't make much sense to me because even in the 1 day availability grouping if I'm legal to start the RAP I'm legal to finish a FDP and they could start the rest after. Oh well.

I have seen this as well. I wonder that if the pre-posted rest is to create a 30 hour rest to avoid a future issue, the SC automation considers it “hard”. But that’s not what the PWA says.
