These are all great points. Thank you. I don't care enough to go to the airport for 2 hours of pay. Maybe a PB day. I've had trips removed or nooped before that were legitimate. No big deal. This is ridiculous though. They admitted on a recorded line it wasn't an error in coverage and it was done to "better utilize reserves." They didn't like that they used a 3 day reserve on a 1 day trip. So after both trips were appropriately covered, as they became known to CS, they decided 12 hours later to illegaly remove the GS and give the 3 day trip to the reserve for "better utilization." They absolutely did it thinking they wouldn't have to pay the reserve GS since there is no trip guarantee for reserves.

Just want to double check. Reserve pilot picks up a GS/IA.1 leg there, overnight, 1 leg back. Gets to the airplane, flight cancels. Company calls a couple minutes later, reroutes them onto something else in the same 2 day footprint, just gets back a few hours later than the original.
This is kosher, right? Technically the pilot isnt required the answer the phone or acknowledge the reroute, but they aren't automatically released when the first flight cancels, so are still on an FDP, so 117 legal and contractually legal to accept the reroute since they are a reserve pilot?

23k doesn't exist/apply for RES. In the above scenario, if never returned to the original rotation, Day 1 would pay 50% RRPY and Day 2 100% RRPY plus all the trip credit. All in addition to the GS pay above RES guarantee (if on X-days.)
