I don’t want it changed. I was responding above to someone who was saying CS would have to assign an airport in NY if we went to a hard callout time. My point was IF we agreed to a hard callout time, it needs to be the pilot, not CS that gets to pick the airport assigned. The “should” in my original comment was a typo and meant to be “could”. I didn’t notice it until after the edit window was closed. As in it could go one of a couple ways.

why is LA #2? Isn’t that base the “promptly available” measured to LAX only? I’m not based out there so I’m not positive.

This is actually a negative consequence (in my opinion) of DALPAs insistence on not having a hard short call response time. We've been very adamant about that over the years. That's mostly a good thing, but the company's attitude is "two can play that game."

If for example we had a hard two hour callout, that would be compulsory on BOTH parties. Yes the pilot would have to show as soon as two hours from trip assignment but the company would also be compelled to have a scheduled departure time NET two hours from trip assignment.

As it is DALPA has long insisted "you can't have a hard SC window, too many variables." So the company says, "ok, the opposite applies for us as well. We'll call SC pilots, if we need to, with ONE hour from a scheduled departure, and then just not hold the pilot's actual report time against him." That's sort of BS to me, but that's the side effects of our SC language. (I still prefer it to a hard callout time but nothing exists in a vacuum.)
I like the soft concept but if the hard were adopted we would need to have a 1 hour before scheduled departure preflight time available similar to the "morning after" option.

Reserve GS question: if a rotation with 4:40 credit blocks in before midnight on my X day but releases after midnight on my RSV day, where is the credit counted? Day of block in or day of release? Makes a big difference whether to jump on it or avoid.

TIA

The day it pays on is based on the the report time adjusted to pilot domicile time.

So a West Coast to East Coast red eye that reports at 2230 July 31st (0130 NYC time on 1 Aug) and the pilot is NYC based, it would credit on 1 Aug.

Appreciate the reply, but not quite the same situation. Report time and block in are in the same calendar day. Block in is at 2350. Release is at 0020 domicile time. Question is what day does the trip credit (ADG) pay? The day you block in, or the day you are released?

The day (adjusted to pilot base time) you report for the FDP.

I did answer in my original reply…

”The day it pays on is based on the the report time adjusted to pilot domicile time.”

it’s not based on block in or release….it’s the date of report time adjusted to your pilot domicile

How does reserve GS trip rig credit work? I have a 4 day GS with the first 2 days being on reserve days and the second two on x-days. There is a 2.5 rig for the trip. Will I get any res GS credit from the rig?

Trip value minus block flown and dh time on the first 2 days will be credited on the last day of the rotation.
