Reserve for Dummies
#1601
Fun fact:
An OOBGS (H Code) that reports on a LC day always pays the first duty period above reserve guarantee no matter how far out it is assigned. There is a J code which is OOBGS with less than 18 hours to report, but that is functionally irrelevant since it will pay exactly the same as the H code.

Me too. I just did a GS and the time that my PR ends was wrong. I’d never have suspected I needed to check if it wasn’t for this forum. Quick call got it corrected and who knows, maybe that small difference makes me ineligible for whatever the next assignment would have been.

2- jointly responsible for ensuring payback days are correct
3- not supposed to be placed on schedule until rotation completion (but scheduling is lazy)

#3's also not prohibited, and in fact is nearly universally the practice (to put PB/PR on your schedule before trip). Established practice carries great weight in any disputes. FWIW, I never start a GS trip without at least sending a Crew Assist message about applying my PB days, and don't recall ever getting pushback.

My last GS owed me 2 PBs. They put them on my next 2 RES days but didn't give me the PR due the following day. AFTER the trip I had to tell them to code it F#1 and to add the PR. These mistakes are VERY common when PBs are added when the trip is assigned. The G#1 code was shorting me 2 hours of GS pay.

Yup, I'm now more surprised when they actually get it right. Another new one was having a GS rejected by scheduling due to a "rest issue," because the scheduler didn't drop the reserve assignment they had given me before I was called for the GS. Called and got it fixed but there is clearly a lack of knowledge/experience in scheduling right now. Gotta watch them close.

What if you get the GS on a PR but the report is after the end of the PR time? Does that count as an F where it pays above guarantee but no payback or does it go as a G and get you a pb?
