You shouldn't lose any pay. IIRC you just become a walking MEL. I think you have to let dispatch know every leg until you get it done.

On the subject of recency/currency, first time I've been in this position. Landing currency is expiring soon. If the 14 days of availability for bounces I gave them comes and goes with nary a word, what happens next? Am I under any obligation to give another 14 days or is there any way for me to restrict days that they can send me to the sim? I assume I am pay protected until they get around to it.

I’m new to reserve and just want to make sure I understand this correctly. Let’s say I’m on long call today and tomorrow. A short notice two day pops up that reports in 3 hours. It’s two hours block, DH back in the morning. If I get a GS call for it, I think it would pay 2 hours over guarantee for today and the rest goes toward guarantee tomorrow and no PB day. I’d that correct?

On a LC day assuming you've not been assigned anything in the future, you must have a 10 hour rest before doing any flying since long call is not rest.

All correct. Only the Block/DH of the first FDP goes above Reserve Guarantee. And it counts as a GS in your count (just be sure it's coded as F#1, so the pay goes above guarantee). If it's your last opportunity of the month for some premium pay, it may be worth it.

True. There is a small window, however, where you do have the required rest for this kind of thing on the first day of a resere stretch. I've scratched my head at it, but I've actually gotten a GS when on SC (when they could have just assigned me the trip. Sure, I'll take some extra cash to do what I could have done for guarantee...)

This is correct. To add though, you can be awarded a GS while on LC with under 10 hours to report if the first day of the trip is DH-only.

Default Reserve assignment with end of rotation DH

I have been assigned a two-day trip that reports at 2200 29Feb. That first and only operating leg arrives at 0500 next day, followed by an 11 hour layover, and then a two-leg DH back home that releases at 2345. Section 8.D.3. of the PWA states, "A pilot who is scheduled to deadhead at the end of a rotation will be booked on the flight(s) scheduled to return the pilot to their base as soon as possible." Looking at the Fly Delta app, there are a few flight options (including a non-stop) that would get me back to my base sooner. These options would also provide me at least a ten hour layover. (Is that the minimum length of time?) Is this an illegal rotation? If so, what should my course of action be? I have not acknowledged the trip yet.

There is also a new PWA provision where they are required to build in a full layover in situations like this. I don't have the reference handy.

You can always deviate on that earlier flight if you want, but it sounds like it *could be* legal from the info you provided. Call CS and ask about it, and the earlier flights.
