Hmmm...

Another gap Delta would like to fill is a good 115-120-seat aircraft, slightly larger than the Boeing 717s that is currently taking over from AirTran. “The 737-700 is not economical and the -800 is too large,” Anderson says. One option could be the Bombardier C-Series and Delta has looked at the geared turbofan (GTF) engine in particular.

I'm pretty sure those are not fuel injected. Maybe O360s.

Thanks, I'll try again now, since my trip leaves in 6 days. They must have changed something though, because for the past 4 years, I've been able to book a good seat, both ways, 30 days (or more) out. So it's down to 14 days at the front, and after sign in for the back end now?

Timbo, tons of info have been put out on this. The company essentially had us on the honor system to follow the rules. They felt we were big boys and made it easy unlike for the flight attendants. There have been no changes. I would do some reading.

I went to check on my reservation just now, it (finally) shows a seat for the front end, still nothing for the back end. I clicked on the "Change seat" link and it won't go to the Delta site to change the seat anymore, like it used to. I tried Wilber's link from above, it says, "Too early to check in". It never used to do that, it would show you the seat map weeks in advance, and you could see what was available. Now, I'm inside of 14 days (inside 7 actaully) and it won't show the map.

SF and others, I know what the approved procedure is/was, I'm just telling you, something has changed in the way Travel Net processes booking our DH seats. Seems Delta Tech is finally catching up to us...maybe in a few years, they'll jump into 1998!

Timbo,

Whoops, sorry, I posted the check-in link and you're right, you can't do that until 24 hour prior. I've always had trouble using the "Change Seat" link. Try taking your confirmation number to

Delta.com>>My Trips and see if you can select a seat.

We are "Grade 12 and above" employees, right?

;^)

What was it Harry Alger used to say...

"If not us, Who? If not now, When?"

I say; US, NOW!

Sailing, let's say you're the CEO. WWYD?

I don't know how bad the real problem is. Lots of forum talk however DCI seems to be running fine. I suspect management is talking with every DCI carrier to insure they can meet their contract. If they can't take the aircraft back and fly them at the mainline.
I think a lot of the talk is simply regional managements trying to convince congress the sky is falling and to lift the new rules rather then just pay a livable wage.

A few months back we mentioned a guy in mil unit getting hired with the cjo and then the next week getting called and "woah there we have a problem with your psych eval..."
Talked to him yesterday. He never heard another thing a out it. They emailed or called him later and said he was good and gave him an indoc date in early may.
Apparently this has happened to several folks and we were conjecturing they might have to meet a board or something. Turns out to be easier.
