Wrong guy. Try again.

only after near-riots from those who had supposedly clamored for CDOs. out of touch.

oh, that's right. Fridays are "pepper grinder" days with management, not butt darts with Moak. My bad.

That's pure horse****. Most of us who had the balls to accept one or more PDs (and the associated managerial harassment) would rather have taken it to a grievance. But DALPA allowed us to play the role of hostage. Let the company think about it until C15.

I guess I'd ask how you can defend why "our" "union" offered zero top cover for those who might have needed a loan in their quests to defend the contract.

That's what causes disunity--waffling and squishy language, passive guidance.

Want unity? Start with strong, firm leadership and a willingness to rumble for guys who lay it on the line.

Really? You would have a preferred a grievance process to what we got?

I guess you could have applied to the furlough emergency relief fund ... cash flow that tight? Goodness. Had no idea.

So which is it? Did you want your association to get you your money ASAP, or drag it out while engaging in meaningless chest beating. I mean if you needed the money it would seem sooner is better.

Speak for yourself! I don't recall getting polled if I want to wait for a grievance...

For insomniacs, very cool meteor shower tonight. May wake the kids about 3:20 in North America.

We will pass through an old debris trail from 209P/LINEAR tonight and tommorrow. This one will look like a hyperspace leap towards the North Pole because of the angle of the collision. Should be a good show with 100 to 400 meteors per hour which are larger than typical.

It would have been at least 90 percent yes if it would have gone to memrat. It is dumb to waste money just so we can feel like we had more of a say. I honestly would vote for it and I'm pretty extreme. Paying reserves like lineholders was my biggest gripe on reserve. I felt like I was on a "B" scale.

I disagree. If you are going to preach "unity" then you need to let the people vote. Emailing your rep works sometimes. Other times it seems the MEC just does what it's going to do regardless.

I'll repeat what I said earlier. If the union wants the type of unity they talk about to really raise the bar then follow these steps:

1. Survey the pilots
2. Release the results and discuss
3. Create a pro/con paper that accurately fleshes out what we are really talking about. Let the pilots weigh in.
4. Let the memory rat out of it's cage to be heard.

Following this protocol every pilot has an opportunity to study the details and weigh in with their input and vote. This level of inclusion is what truly brings "unity". Unity is no longer just words.

Btw, some on here are saying a memrat would cost millions (someone even suggested $20 million). It should only cost a fraction of that including electronic means to disseminate material through video, audio and written media. Welcome to the 21st century everybody! Please quit using cost as a reason to not let the pilots vote on larger contractual items that affect them potentially for the remainder of their career at Delta Air Lines.

Yeah, but when they made that movie about the time Luke crashed that one in the swamp I thought they were going to shut down the program.

And what would we do if ALPA polled and 51 percent said no to memrat?

What would we do if ALPA polled and 51 percent that we shouldn't poll any more?
