Sure, we are short ERB's right now, but nobody that gets it on this award will be in place in time to help out before things start drawing down in the fall. I'd like to think it's because the shrinkage is shrinking, so to speak.

As I understand it, we've already had new hires going into the ATL ER. They have also been backfilling ERB's in other bases the last few AE's - take a look at the SLC ERB awards on the last couple of bids, all backfills (thank you very much:cool:). And a lot of these backfills have fall conversions . I haven't done an in depth analysis yet, but I'm guessing there has been a rather large exodus from the right seat of the ER lately. That, and like you said, perhaps the draw down won't be quite as rapid as they originally stated.

I heard superpilot didn't acknowledge a trip until 3 hours prior to departure on LC, and he didn't get a PD because he's just that good.

Now they just give me special trips because they know that it's necessary to do so to ensure the job gets done!

I wish I could find that pic of the dual engine failure our instructor gave him to fly into Quito. I guess he knew Super needed a challenge. He still made it look easy. :)

I keep hearing about a huge bid coming this fall. Lots of captain spots and the beginning of staffing adjustments for the new 330s.

If a drawdown is planned in the ER categories, maybe the plan is for it to be in terms of folks bidding up and out rather than pushing guys out the bottom?

One can hope.

The 25 percent drawdown in the fall is not that far off the normal summer to fall transition. It's been way overplayed on the forum.

From the DALPA MEC Facebook page this morning,

"Delta Connection Carrier Working Group meeting this week to discuss ab-initio training programs and input to the FAA Air Carrier Training ARC/Working Group"

I'm sure there's a lot there that needs to be monitored.

Delta passengers upset because pilot doesn't show

Stuff like this also needs to be monitored so the news can properly report that it's not "Delta" but their very own regional subsidiary.

I believe delta is learning that you reap what you sow.

This has been going on since the 1990's. As long as DL can get cheap lift, they are more than content to take a few lumps in the press. Believe me, they're glad they called it Delta. That's the whole idea.

But to the passengers it is Delta. They bought a ticket from DAL and that is who they should accountable for providing the service. Just another reason not to outsource.

The NYT's likes it ...

Did you notice the C130's in the background during an airdrop scene? Those must've been A models. ;)
