The cap is the limiting factor for me 9 times out of 10. That's a good thing. As a example this month I currently have about 68 hours. There have been at least half a dozen trips I saw in open time I would have picked up. All put me over the cap. The contract protects me from myself sometimes. If we eliminated the cap I bet it would cost at least 5% of our jobs.

You might be right, but most guys who would fly to the FAR's already get fairly close under the cap system. I don't quite think it would be 5% of our jobs. 70% of the group wouldn't do anything different with no cap. Most of us are worried about a min month in C2015 right now. Of the other 30% I'll bet 90% of them know their way around the cap. That leaves 5% that are too dumb to figure it out that MAY on occasion fly more than what the cap now allows.

The formula is simple. Bid 3-day trips if able, WS to the pickup limit on the first PCS run (preferably a couple 2-days or a 3-day), head over to the swap board and pickup whatever is there. After that, spend the rest of the month swapping your 2 and 3-day trips for trips that are longer and you will easily get to what the FAR's allow. Not that hard even if you are junior.

Wrong thread.

Anyone have any experience with the M&H pants? I went cheapo on my last go-round and bought some lookalikes at Kohl's, but they haven't held up.

I figure I can buy M&H pants almost 2:1 vs Abbots. Are they cheap as well? I don't want to be back at this again until I need to add another inch to the waistline.

Plus, my second set of pants from Abbots were not as high a quality level as the first two pair. I noticed a lot of fuzzballs appearing after a couple of trips and dry cleanings. Hopefully I'll remember the M&H option next time around.

I would love to see the cap applied to swaps and the swap board but suspect I am in the minority on that point.

I don't think so. I think most guys would love to have the cap rules tightened up - I know I would. I will fly my butt off at 200% but rarely pick up a trip at straight pay.

I think the majority of pilots feel this way the problem is that the fly to the cap, trip parking, very aggressive guys are much, much more vocal.

In my opinion most guys who fly their line, go home and don't read these boards would probably prefer the cap be tightened up - problem is they are not as engaged as the aggressive fliers.

I'm going to create an alter for this website. I'll then come in and post as that person and nobody will know its me.

But I need a name. Any ideas?

Just learned a nasty lesson about the PWA and greenslips.

Got a call from scheds (voicemail) saying they put a greenslip on my line for tomorrow....10 minutes to respond or they will move on. I went to the computer and acknowledged the award via iCrew and verified that it showed on my line and my time card. Then proceeded to go take a shower/pack etc. Looked at my phone an hour later and saw 3 more voicemails from crew scheduling. Started listening to them and they called to say they had made a mistake and that it shouldn't have been a GS so they had changed it to a whiteslip on my line and I had 10 more minutes to acknowledge the WS. By the time I got the messages they had moved on to the next guy.

So, initially I think to myself, Hey....they owe me something for the fact that I acknowledged an award and then they removed it from my line. Called a friend who knows the PWA pretty well and he directed me to 23.Q.13. which says that Delta can correct errors in GS awards up to 2 hours prior to report without owing the awarded pilot anything. So no GS for me AND I missed the opportunity for a WS of the same trip because I didn't see the need to stay close to my phone since I had already acknowledged a trip for the next day. Nice.

At least I hadn't commuted in for the GS. I hate how the whole "live and learn" thing always seems to cost me $$$

Why would anyone need another name? That would be really lame.

Kohls, bro! Take your current pants and find a pair that matches them. You'll save a boatload and no one will be able to tell a difference. In fact, I like my Kohls pants better than Abbots/M&H

Might I suggest UnderBoobz69?
