The CC/DPA 40 list.. no comment.
I was convinced of the superiority of the UPS DB/DC arrangement till I understood their details and did the numbers. Both their DB and DC are capped and that is the rub. Our DC and PS aren't capped. Our 4% more DC vs UPS plus our pensionable Profit Sharing at a nominal level appears to simply be worth more over time and its paid to you up front in your name. If you want an annuity buy one.. or buy several. UPS has a good contract, but a NewFlyGuy.. or Gal with any financial savvy at all should do very well at DAL. Have a Great Delta Weekend! OFG

Exactly, my point was only about guys saying we're taking the money and giving up QOL. How's a rolling thunder guy losing QOL? All ears. I might have 5 GS's in 30 years. And 5 months on reserve. Crew skeds doesn't know I exist. I plan to keep it that way.

I applaud anyone who's willing to max the system. But it does entail being at the beck and call of crew skeds, something I won't do. QOL is flying to Nice on Tuesdays in my book, or every weekend off.
1800 hours of 717B is approximately what a widebody Captain would make flying a "normal" schedule. How's my math?

And that calculation is bankable year after year.
I say good on ya for those who are able to find whatever advantage their category presents. But as has been noted..... the calculation for 'compensation' is more involved than multiplying alv times hourly pay rates.

Sounds fun! We have one girl; I remember those days, treasure them. I'm lucky if I can get a hello from her at age 14! I can handle 16 days of work a month, beats working for a living!

Your making probably 400k or more this year with profit sharing and claim a great quality of life, why so angry about virtually everything?

Even with the shortage we have looming, the GS trip buy plan is never long term. I've seen it go through 3 cycles on the 320 in the last 7 years. When the getting is good, it's good. They always seem to catch up and then that plan dries back up even with lots of hiring.
I've done 3 125+ hour months the last few months and while the money is good, QOL stinks. You basically put yourself on voluntary SC at any base for the entire month.

With 20 percent profit sharing, about 370k. I let my passion get the best of me sometimes. We disagree on the TA. If doing that makes me angry, in your opinion, I can live with that. Several "angry" yes voters on this forum as well, but I don't take it personally. Come December 2nd, the sun will rise and life will go on. We'll move onto the next topics, whichever way the vote turns out, and life will go on.

Fwiw......a sage observation I will pass along..... no matter how much money you make 'working the system'....... it will ever be enough to pay for what a divorce will cost you.
So keep the important stuff in focus.

Still waiting to hear how QOL is going down the tubes with the TA. It's by no means perfect, but flying a 100 green slips a year, QOL can't be at the top of the list.
