Do they give GSs to reserves? If so, how does one go about getting one? Thanks!
It's where rolling thunder comes from as you bid off the first few days of the month and then GS but I'll let the experts explain that. But sometimes even a single GS can be a huge pay day. A 777B was telling me got a 28 hour 3-day all on his days off and it was the only thing he had flown in two months. So 98 hours of pay for 28 hours of flying. Green Slips (GS) A reserve pilot may submit a GS to fly on either on-call or X-days. A reserve pilot who has flown a GS rotation(s) will receive: • single pay and credit for the portion of such rotation(s) flown on his reserve on-call days that occurred before the pilot’s accumulated credit exceeded the ALV (applied against his reserve guarantee), and • single pay, no credit (in addition to any other form of pay and credit for the bid period) for the portion of such rotation(s) that: • interrupted his X-day(s), or • occurred after his accumulated credit equaled the ALV, Note: A reserve pilot who flies a GS rotation into an X-day(s) is entitled to additional time free of duty under Section 23 S. 11. Also, A reserve pilot who flies on an X-day due to an IA, GS or reroute will be given nine hours free of duty, 13 after ocean crossing, upon his release at the completion of his rotation. His X-day(s) will begin immediately following such nine-hour period and will continue until he has received a period of 24 hours free of duty for each interrupted and remaining X-day in his scheduled X-day block. |
Goofy question about the PCS Run....
If the computer can't honor your 1st request does it move on to your following requests, then to the next person? Or does it only try to fill one slip request per person before moving on? |

MAO six day
Just curious, how do we staff a 6 day lay over in Manaus when there is no clean drinking water and very limited food choices?
Wonder if ALPA would agree to a LOA so that this trip could be done as a dinner / movie turn? I for one would gladly extend a duty day, but don't desire to break the rules. Anyone have thoughts on this? |
