Do you really think that's the case? As has already been said, you do most of the systems studying at home. Come back to start your aircraft training and there's at least 1-2 days of systems review with an instructor and then you do the systems SV test.
That's why I asked. Dapunk said his systems review was 2 to 3 hours. I'm in initial now for the 330 and my review lasted 2 hours. It was mostly focused on passing the test versus learning the systems. Just disappointed.,, that's all...

It's not even systems review during indoc. It's FOM, Airway Manual stuff. There's nothing fleet specific until you go home. I think most fleets it's one day of review before SV. 2 days for ER guys.

717 guys get 1 day FMS, 2 days system review and 1 day eSV/FMS review.

Plus you get speaker after speaker from just about every department that exists, emergency equipment, slides, and pool training. Also the DPMA presentation and the Delta Cares (which is the hardest sales job I have ever seen). I will buy a beer for anyone who can say no to that one.

To each their own, if you want to contribute to a charity of your choosing then you should do so and be happy with your efforts. The sell job was so hard it convinced me to focus my charity elsewhere.

They really did push the Delta Care Fund deduction. I remember the guy telling us that 100% of the new hires contribute, and that if any of us removed our deduction afterwards that he would "hunt us down". I am not exaggerating.. I didn't like the sales job, and when I cancelled it on the next paycheck I never heard a peep.

I don't have a problem with part of the program, but then he explains one of the funds has provided scholarships to pilots so they can get their masters degree. Why should we fund a fellow pilots academic pursuits when they already have the job?

Wow, what is this "Delta Care Fund"? I've been working here 30+ years and never heard of it! Someone please PM me the name of the clown giving you the hard sell on that and I'll run it by a couple chief pilot buddies of mine, see who/what that's all about. Was it a pilot pushing this on you, or someone from HR?
I do highly recommend the Delta Pilot Mutual Aid membership. I've been in it since a new hire and had to use it twice for disabilities in the past 6 years (it sucks getting old!).
It's not much out of your paycheck and it'll be a great help if you have to use it years from now.

It is what it is. Even when I was irritated by it I kept in mind that I'd be a new hire once and one first year pay for only a year. I'll be on the 12 year rates a lot longer. Grin and bear it.

Yeah, What Timbo said. Let us know who is pushing this. That's unacceptable. We can make this go away. Smacks of coercion. Hitting up people on probation who can't talk back. That's low rent.
There is a reason why they don't hit up senior guys. We wouldn't tolerate it. Give to charity. Be generous. But, Delta Cares? BS.
