With our current PS levels and the prospect of the company holding the entire labor force hostage over this just to attempt to stick it to us, we should call their bluff and wait it out long before we eat concessions to pay for a raise.

What if they kept the current 70 seat limit…but went from max certifiable/weight limits to currently installed? Because as of now most or all 70 seaters are really 64 seaters. So they could double the number of 70 seaters by keeping the on paper limit of 70 seaters while merely changing the definition of 70 seater. NO SCOPE CONCESSIONS! NONE!

It's nice to have a "me too" policy that works for us for a change.

Someone posted that on chitchat as from a rep.
IMO the dark side fed the rumor to make 70 76 seat jets for DCI seem like a win.
Hoping that's all bs.
Why would we make scope concessions in this environment?

138 CR2s is about 6900 seats and those seats are not in use as much as the CR9s if I'm not mistaken. 6900 seats is around 90 CR9s. Use 70 CR9s and you'll probably have as much ASMs in a given day as you did with 138 CR2s.
Shooting from the hip. But it's a guess. The keys to getting more CR9s is in the PWA.
I'd say, let them have 70 more CR9s/E175s in the PWA.
As long as we fly them.

There are still 138 CRJ-200s they'd probably like to get rid of. Probably both in just getting rid of the airframes and excess capacity.

Here is a potential fly in the ointment. TIFWIW With the hiring that is currently going on, we will be training right seat RJ pilots who will have bids off the equipment before they finish indoc. The captain pay is similar to 7ERB, and we have newhires getting international lines before being TOE complete. This would be expensive to the company, and puts newhires on the chopping block since they are on probation and switching airpanes is a risky venture. In today environment, I am not so sure RJs are worth negotiating for. I personally think the rumor is a throw away.

I'm not sure how RJ captain pay vs 7ERB pay is relevant to the scope issue.
The point about newhires on the chopping block by switching airplanes during probation doesn't make any sense. All new hires should be off probation at the same time they complete their new hire training freeze. If they do successfully bid to a new category while still on probation and don't make it through training, it was their individual risk to take. Bid what you want...
