This isn’t progression for all, it’s “progression for us.” Pulling up the ladder behind us, leaving tomorrows’ pilots with 8 years on the contract, a permanent flow down provision, but absolutely no guaranteed and contractual career progression doesn’t sound like ALPA’s campaign. Especially since COVID hit.
”As we entered 2020, our preeminent goal was to achieve guaranteed and contractual career progression for the pilots of Endeavor Air. As the impact of COVID-19 continues to unfold, questions have been asked about the viability of the PFA campaign or whether we should continue to advocate for progression. The answer is unequivocally YES. This campaign is no longer just about Endeavor pilots securing careers at Delta, it is now about all of us progressing through this challenge together. I have continuously promoted this campaign as unifying and positive, something we need now in our industry more than ever. We want TSA and Compass pilots to progress to new jobs, we want Delta to progress back to profitability, we want aviation to progress toward normalcy and we want this crisis to progress to its end. I believe the PFA campaign is more critical today than ever before as a symbol of our unity and strength. Wear the orange lanyard with pride, take care of each other and we will not just survive, but eventually thrive.” -NJ MEC Chair.

Looking at the list, most in the top 200 have less than 10 years till retirement. If the flow starts in the summer, it will probably reach number 300 on the list by January. From there, almost all pilots will take the flow. 350ish is where the big 2007 and beyond hiring boom took place, and everyone has 20+ years left.

That's hard to say. From a purely financial perspective, it makes sense to jump to Delta up to like age 62, but obviously, people value things other than money. I would expect a large percentage of the guys aged 55+ to flow.

No one is forcing those pilots to come to Endeavor. They should be well aware of the contract and career profession status. Besides, Delta may try to staff Endeavor with propel applicants. Declining a flow because those hired after us is extremely shortsighted. I wasn’t aware progression for all meant college kids in flight school. There are plenty of cadet programs future pilots can apply to.
Us current Delta pilots don’t owe anything to flow-ees. We’ve done the hard work, time to pass the torch and let them fend for themselves. They don’t have to flow to Delta, there are plenty of other major airlines out there they can work for.

I think Delta should create a B-scale for any EDV pilots who flow to Delta. Us current Delta pilots don’t owe anything to flow-ees. We’ve done the hard work, time to pass the torch and let them fend for themselves. They don’t have to flow to Delta, there are plenty of major airlines they can go to.

So if Delta guys agree to a B scale for flows to reduce the number of RJs that’s totally fine, because they don’t want to worsen their career with more RJs.
