This is FAR from a fine deal. DALPA needs to approve (they won’t) or DL needs to win in arbitration ( maybe, but I wouldn’t count on it) or DL needs to give DALPA something in return that they want. (Hint: flowback is t what they want).

and yes, math says 6-8 years for a new hire. (Where does it say new hires don’t get it? That would be stupid considering a flow is PRIMARILY a recruiting tool)

Was the contract really extended to 2029 with this? Aero crew news reporting that on Facebook. 8 years is a very very long time

yes it was. But I think our current one was due up in 2024 or 2025. So it's a 4 or 5 year extension.

That being said. Since we signed out current contract we've also signed over 100 LOA's to amend the contract. We don't usually wait for section 6 to amend.

  1. Contract and Bridge Extension
The parties have agreed to extend the Endeavor JCBA to Jan. 1, 2029 with the ability to open contract negotiations on Jan. 1, 2028. Our Bridge Agreement will also extend to 24 months beyond our amendable date, meaning that it will run through Jan. 1, 2031. The Bridge Agreement protects the 109 aircraft in our highest paying seat range (60-76 seats).
If the Flow LOA is voided, we will follow one of two paths. If the termination of the agreement occurs:
    1. Before Jan. 1, 2024: We will revert to our original amendable date and the extension will be null and void.
    2. After Jan. 1, 2024: We will immediately become amendable with an additional contract escalator in the 365 days following the termination of LOA 9 to prevent our contract from stagnating with respect to pay increases while we negotiate a new agreement.
  2. Annual Escalators
Currently, we are guaranteed an annual 1.5% pay scale increase until Jan. 1, 2024, at which point we will receive a 2% increase. Per the AIP, we will receive a 3% increase in 2025, then 2% every year after through Jan. 1, 2029. This retains important strategic concepts in our JCBA, which includes an extension of our fleet guarantee beyond the amendable date and a contract escalator as we become amendable. This also ensures that pilots who choose not to flow to Delta will have security at Endeavor through the end of their careers with respect to pay increases and jobs.

Thanks. Inflation running at 4.3% right now.

Outsider here.

Why does DALPA need to agree to this?

lol we have the highest overall pay scale in the regionals and upped the raises from 1% to 2% with a one time 3% bump but you're mad it's not 4.3% ?? They could literally give every pilot on property a Cadillac for free and someone would come on here like, pshh Its not a Tesla.... Come on

You'll have to dig. It's a long story.

Tldr the deal hinges upon reinstating an old loa they had with compass to provide flowdown in exchange for 35 large rjs.

Deltas position is that they can replace us in the loa instead of compass and boom it's back on.

Dalpa's position is that the agreement is null and a new one has to be signed.

They'll negotiate and get something for the trouble, or it'll go to arbitration. There's some iffy language in there that supports both arguments. Not well written.

There's a lot more to it than that, but that's the cliff notes

You must REALLY need a guaranteed job to get onto property at a mainline carrier. Lots of Rosie colored glasses over at Endeavor. You’re so clearly blinded by the flow light that you can’t see the adversarial relationship Delta management has with their pilots. Willing to do anything and everything to stick it to them. This is just another example.
