Republic captains are getting $15-$20 raise in January and another $5ish in January 2020. Another little tidbit the fancy graphs leave out.

Republic isn’t the red headed step child of another contractor. IDGAF about Republic. All I care about is getting out from under the umbrella of Chip Childs and his cult.

LOL. So you're willing to accept a sub-par contract for the slim possibility that that MIGHT happen? Sad.

Fixed it..

I don’t think the nonXJT commenters here are truly considering the position that group is in. In a vacuum sure, vote it down and demand trip credit improvements or a better rate. But the reality for these guys is this is a take it or leave it deal. I wouldn’t fault anyone for voting no out of principle, but I also wouldn’t fault anyone for voting yes knowing this is the last chance to keep their seniority list intact. It’s easy for an outsider to tell someone to vote their company out of existence when it isn’t your job on the line.

That's the reason we only agreed to a 3 year deal.

They are just ****ing on it because that is what they do. Republic has to be upset because your labor costs will be lower than theirs and you will take some of the 175 flying away from them.

I look at the contract with it’s outs in January 2019 —- which probably means everything SGU has planned has fallen through —- as a positive. It means you will know where you stand in February 2019 a little bit better. That is only 5 months away and worth the wait for many.

If the 175’s come, that will stem some of the CA departures. The 175’s and the up to $40k in signing bonuses will attract new hires that might have not given Xjet even a look. Once you start growing your pilot base again, good things will happen.

You have just made an argument that every contract airline should always vote yes. We never operate in vacuums. We are growing or shrinking.
This TA didn’t arrive because of United’s good graces. They are at the table because they need to right their ship. United can’t replace xjet, they have tried.
It is a market.

Without being offensive, you do realize that this is probably bad news for Mesa right? If not specifically bad news it will be generally bad for Mesa to have another operator flying United owned AC. Either way

I hope Xjet is successful. I hope that United really does this program right by them and they are unshackled. I think Xjet’s pilot base is doing the right thing when this gets approved and they can see what transpires between now and February.

And, as far as Mesa goes, if everyone’s $$$’s go up then that will cause upward pressure for Mesa’s $$$’s. You can’t operate a regional very long without attracting new hires. And, as a public company, you will have an investor revolt if you can’t keep pace. Mesa’s management is smart enough to know that.

In reading over the SkyWest 10Q recently, the only disappointment I had was that United has a 120 day cancellation clause on the CRJ200’s. I guess they need that in case the ASA guys don’t stick around in the desired numbers.
