I wonder why the declared the IROP?... Oh, maybe because of all that f'ing thunderstorm activity.

Stop blaming crew-utilization. You don't have all the facts sitting there arm-chair CEO'ing

The weather is perfectly fine up in DTW, there was absolutely no reason for them to declare an IROP. They are just idiots!

Did it ever occur to you that an IROP doesn't necessarily mean that the weather OVER DTW is nasty. Perhaps it's because DTW crews are out there flying through the weather affecting the east coast? ... seriously brah.

IROP: Irregular Operation” (IROP) means severe weather or other unforeseen event(s) that significantly affect flight operations at any of the Company’s domicile(s) as determined by the OCC.

The e-mail send out said "Due to Severe weather, ATC program impacting ATL, DTW, IAD, the ExpressJet OCC duty manager is declaring an IROP"

No weather or ATC programs at DTW today! I guess we can throw in not properly staffed in the "unforeseen events".

.. i'm not here to win the internet dude. But you gotta realize, if the DTW crews are hit with ground stops leaving DTW for the east coast or they get stuck/diverted going to places on the east coast like RDU or ORF... thats gonna have a domino effect for later DTW flights to OMA, DFW, and BFE. That'll "significantly affect flight operations at any of the Company’s domicile(s) as determined by the OCC"

But go ahead and feed your suspicion that it's all about the company trying to cover up for bad staffing. I don't care. It ain't my problem!

Our DTW based crews barely touch the area that you provided a screen shot for; even so - looks like standard pop up action for the South East, definitely nothing irregular.

Y'all can blame me. Looks like I'll get away with twelve or thirteen days of work all summer.
