It wasn't in the 10k it was in the shareholder conference call when skywest purchased us. By combining us they projected a savings of 40 million a year. They stated that neither company would be competitive as a stand alone company.

Competitive and bankrupt are two very different things.

Yet some on this thread say that we were headed for bankruptcy.

Let me clear this up once and for all... SkyWest bought both ASA and Expressjet, end of story.

And still to this day, no one with any credibility can say whether or not the Legacy Expressjet Airlines was headed for bankruptcy. No numbers or official statements or anything other than a few rumor starting tool bags can comment on this.

Stating that allegedly a company (LXJT) was in such financial distress and that its pilot group was to blame for this poor status combined with saying that the your airline (LASA) was in shipshape financially and would do just fine in the future had it not acquired said airline surely could use a little reference and backing to hold it's weight.

If you are going to support this supposed bankrupt LXJT rumor, could someone at least prove it? Some are absolutely dead-set on it. So it must be easily proven right?

Maybe this would help.

So what happened between 2008 when these articles were published and 2010 when Skywest bought ExpressJet?

Analysts Worried about XJT Bankruptcy - Tags: BANKRUPTCY EXPRESSJET Airlines Inc.
And the XJT MEC turned down JA's offer and XJT didn't go into bankruptcy. XJT gained additional flying after that.

Actually, DAL had already pulled the plug on that flying at that point. That's not the flying I was talking about but I'm sure you already knew that.

And in the meantime DAL was already gearing up to give you the 2nd lowest rates as well.
