Oh, good. I'll just stick to threads with SkyWest in the title and develop tunnel syndrome. Thanks! And dont let me catch you posting in any of those threads either. If you want to be childish about it. Cool?

It's a stupid analogy because you're NOT in prison. You're an employee for a company based in a right to work state. You can get out any time you want to. Please hurry. Free yourself "Nevets".
Ok, it's not a perfect analogy. But it's still a valid one. It's a metaphorical prison in which we are all trying to escape by trying to get to somewhere better. But I know you know that and you just want to disagree with me every chance you get.

If I were you I would sit tight, stay where you are, keep sending your apps, and keep your eyes and ears open.
F.O.'s are getting calls at the majors, just like captains with TPIC and college degrees aren't.

The only scenario where I would start over at the bottom of another regional would be if I'd been sat on the shelf for a while and need to get current again, or the other regional was hiring street captains.

Things are happening fast in this industry right now. Those of us who are current and qualified just need to be patient.
It is nice having the option to stay I agree. I don't want to go down the furlough road again, I already have that t-shirt! Going to another regional is at the bottom of my list.....haha after quitting. Oh well, it is just wait and see time.

As they say here in Georgia, "don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya".

Some people have been trying to get to some place better since day one. And after more than 10 years, they are still here. Maybe they are still trying to get out or maybe they are looking to retire here (and get out). But I don't think anyone envisions dying while still working here. Hence the prison analogy.

The question is how long to wait. We aren't getting any younger. Me personally I would like to start a family soon. I don't want to start a family when I'm 40. I can't start one now bc I don't make enough money, I have high student loans and my girlfriend is in the same boat. I don't know how long I can be patient and wait while this job takes away the simple things in life because I want to fly for the majors. Hopefully we all have a chance soon with all of the jobs that are opening up. I think most of us will have a shot, but this waiting game here at Expressjet with no light at the end of the tunnel for the past 6 years and the foreseeable future, is getting old.

I think you'll be fine. Kids don't realize you're poor until they're around 7-8.

Just get the snip and buy a dog. They're more grateful than kids and they usually die before they turn into teenagers!

Most huh? I MUST be lucky. Sure wish you were there to tell me this BEFORE I invested all of that money and time.

Sorry man, 7 + as an FO at a regional airline with no opportunity to upgrade for years isn't a best case scenario. If MOST have it worse well I really missed something I guess.
