CRJ700/900 only? Too good for the CRJ200?

My advice is don't put your life off for this career. Because you never know if this career will actually advance, and life doesn't wait.

CRJ7 or 9 is just in case I want to go to the Mideast. CR2 does not cut the mustard in terms of weight. But what I was asking was whats the possibility of CR7 or 9 would they give me some type of choice and when? Are ATL and DTW the only bases that house those? Im assuming they dont run junior at all either.
Cheers again.

ASA CR7/9 bases are ATL, DTW. CR2 bases are ATL, IAD, DFW. Yes, CR7/9 is senior, so if you get it, you will be on reserve for a much longer time than the CR2. But the trips are much better.

The way ASA does it is they let newhires bid with their class seniority (age) for whatever open spots they need. It could be any airplane, any base, whatever their needs are that particular day.

Age not number? You mean that because my age is divisible by 11 that means I go to the top of the line?
Whats a rough of idea a longer time being junior in ATL or DTW? 2 years?

I'm not sure if you're dense or trying to be a smart***. If you're old you might get the 700/900. Some classes can all go to the 200 though or you may not even get a choice between CRJ vs ERJ. If you want the time in a "big" RJ to go play in the sand and that's all you're after you better look else where. Compass's fleet is entirely 170-175's so since you assume you can get a job so easily I'd suggest going there. A long time junior means 5 years...

Trust me, same boat. 7 year FO here on the CRJ side. I have a massive student loan that's about 40% paid off. One difference is my wife's student loan was forgiven (teacher in underprivileged school district for certain # of years). That being said, there is never going to be a "good time" to have kids. You'll always need more things, house items will break, there will never be enough money. Don't let your career dictate your life. If you and your significant other are ready, do it. There are successful families that have a lot less than you. It also helps if you live near family that can help (in terms of watching kids/babysitting, advice, etc...)

The wait sucks... a lot. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, we just can't quite see it yet. Upgrade at L-ASA? Probably not. I'm less than 100 from the most jr CA but I don't see it happening. We're more likely to get picked up at a major carrier before we see a left seat at L-ASA. Hiring will pick up again this fall as UAL gets through their backlog of training and DAL will hire even more. Spirit, Virgin America, JetBlue, AA and USAir are all hiring as well. It will happen.

No really I mean I understand seniority # but to use "age" I was really asking.. Otherwise why would I post? ** pretend I know nothing and am asking on a pilot forum to get more information...

Anyways 5 years junior and not holding a line.. ummm.. What was the name of that truck driving school. Truck masters?
