Skywest cannot operate all the 175s with current routes/staffing. Xjt will get the planes if we are going to get them regardless of contract. Don't drink the koolaide of take concessions or no new planes. I'm glad only 17% are dumb enough to believe them

The amount of money that XJT loses on a daily bases, I find it very hard to believe that you'll get new airframes unless you all turn it around quick. The last quarterly call didn't seem too promising...
As for staffing, so far so good. Classes have been in 30-40 range. How long that will last is anyone's guess.

You seem to forget that the 200s will slowly go away. The 175's are what mainline wants, not 50seat weight restricted RJs. As 200's go away, those pilots will simply transfer to the 175 or MRJ when the time comes.

So if we don't get 175s, screw em! Try to staff those 400 shiny RJs with little transfer from XJT.
I'm tired of doing other people's job.

Nothing’s changed since SkyWest bought ExpressJet, they knew what the labor cost were and they knew what kind of rates xjet was getting. Getting the 175s is probably the only thing that will help them as it will shrink the total upside down rates on the little ships, and increase the rates for the larger aircraft.
Any ship that xjet parks is a good thing:
1) It creates room for a new ship in this environment
2) New ships are more profitable (Republic showed us this already)
3) If xjet parks a ship that losses money and doesn’t furlough, it’s a win
for the pilots and the balance sheet
If Express jet pilots are unhappy about lights and tunnels, they need to realize that they are potentially going to ride out a contract that was apparently signed below cost and never really suffered from it, except for a little stagnation, which by the way, everyone else suffered from. The day to be unhappy was the day you realized that mgmt signed a deal at a loss just to keep you busy and live for another day. I am not meaning to sound negative; I would like to work at ExpressJet and am very happy for them and the vote outcome. I do think Inc. will send new planes their way, if for no other reason to slow or stop the bleeding.

Dear Skywest pilots, please, please begin to accept that XJT is going to be merged into Skywest or Skywest into XJT. There is no point to any other idea. Inc. just haven't decided how best to abandon the XJT merger and get the new plan rolling. They will not be wasting another 3 years on a failed merger when they know the endgame is something else anyway. They are already installing Skywest management in positions in Atlanta. They are in the process of choosing which threats to use with each side to weaken both going into this new mess.
The day RAH settles their contract, they will be coming at us. The longer RAH takes, the more complicated it becomes for Inc. because those airplanes are on the way, and they need to know how big a hammer to hit us with.
If you are a new hire, the best thing to do is consider Skywest and XJT to be the same company because they're going to be. Go to the side that is the best commute to where you live.

It would be funny if they announced it on the 1st.
I give it about 6 months, maybe far less before something huge is announced. I will laugh at you guys then for not seeing something so obvious. My XJT ID expires in September. I would say even odds that the new one says Skywest on it. Inc. has to right its ship to deal with RAH, that means ending this ridiculous business with trying to merge XJT. The attempted merger is going to be put to rest soon. Time and resources cannot continue to be spent on failure.

There is something to consider here.... Why would Inc merge the list at your current seniority? OO has A LOT of pilots senior enough and definitely wouldn't want increase those #'s. I could see Inc winding down XJT and offering pref interviews to get the pilots we'll need at a much lower seniority/costs. I know it sucks but that's the way it goes unfortunately.
