So how do we merge when the two sides are so far apart? This isn't working for anyone. We've been separate for this long, just stay separate. I don't want anything to do with the LXJT side.

The PBS transition is the best compromise. We can take the best of the two systems in the next contract.
I know how your line bidding works. I know how your ILIW and SLIW and add pay works. I've used line bidding. Have you used PBS?

I don't like your free for all first come first served ILIW. I like the seniority system. I'm not interested in compromising.

I like our union reps. They are looking out for us. I really don't want to merge with you.

What's wrong with just keeping things separate? We like what we have, and obviously you like what you have. Let's just stay separate then everyone wins. You keep your line bidding and we keep flightline. You keep your vacation bidding, and we keep ours. You get to keep your Bfund and your LTD. What am I missing?
Of course you're senior. You want it all for you and screw the people behind you. Thats the ASA way.

Thats what the PBS transition agreement gives us. We try our PBS out and you keep yours. Whats wrong with that?

That's how the airline business works. Seniority rules. Using your logic, why don't we just get rid of the seniority system. Why don't you try our PBS system? Why are you afraid of our PBS system? You don't even know how it works. This rubs a lot of us the wrong way. I swear you guys just want to be difficult.

Line bidding sucks! I want no part of it. Pref bidding is light years better, and I was a skeptic.

You guys are hopeless. We protect seniority over here and the senior here have amazing QOL. That's not going to change. We just spread out the good things in the contract so that it is a little more bearable to be junior.

I don't get your mentality. You think because you were hired on a certain date you are superior to your fellow pilots and deserve all the spoils while others get the scraps? Do you ever think about how different the 7 year FO's life is next to you? And it has nothing to do with your or his skill/ability.. Just a simple number and timing?

That's fine. We have basically conceded line bidding. Lets move on with the transition agreement

Using your logic, I should give him my captain seat. After all wouldn't that be "fair"? Yes it sucks, but that's how this business works.

I'm not superior, I'm senior and this is a seniority based system. Again, why don't we just stay separate at this point. You keep your line bidding and your socialism and we keep our PBS and seniority based system. Seems like a win for everyone.
