That issue has been fixed. You should never be paid less than the 1hr credit per 3.75 hours away. I haven't heard of anyone having that issue in a while now.

As far as Chicago trips being commutable, I would imagine a fair number of them are.

A quick perusal of open time, I see lots of pairings with this issue. Is it a Flica issue where it just doesn't display correctly?

For example, D3267A on Apr 7 had the MSN turn split off and is now showing 7 hours credit for the 3 day vs 14 prior to the split.

i would assume that if this trip were assigned or picked up, you would have to file a pay claim?

Our Trip Rig---3.75:1---does not apply to "pilot modified pairings." There's a list of things in our contract that constitute "pilot modified." In addition to these listed items, the Company has taken an expansive interpretation and now almost any modification for any reason is treated as a pilot modification.

To keep things simple (sarcasm alert) crew scheduling removes trip rig from ALL modified pairings. Our payroll person is supposed to correct the pairings as appropriate and apply trip rig when she processes the payroll. This part of the plan almost never happens.

This little technique is one of the many revenue-enhancing procedures enacted by the Company over the most recent 18 to 24 months.

You can only maintain the trip rig on pilot modified pairings that you add too, not drop things off of. If you drop, you lose the trip rig...period. If you add a turn, and the credit is negativey effected by loss of the rig, you have to email/call/file payroll dispute, and the credit will eventually be restored.

you pick up flying and somehow it sounds like your negatively effected? Aka having to email payroll...kinda sucks a little

What is the expected future size of the ORD base? Would someone hired late(er) in 2015 realistically have a chance of holding ORD? If I am lucky enough to get a chance at F9, I would love to be based in Chicago, but I'm afraid that once I am available for hire later in 2015 I might get stuck in whatever the new east coast base is. Any insight from anyone? Thanks!

I think you'll be able to hold Chicago for sure. Frontier is still very much a Denver airline, the vast majority of the pilots want Denver so holding any other base should be easy. Chicago is growing to roughly 80 crews, currently about 70. You might not get Chicago out of training but should get it quickly I would think.

When I was hired last year more people wanted ORD than there were slots and the company managed to give everyone who wanted it. They are really good about it.

There are still over 10 people from the January class that want Chicago and are based in Denver. 4/30 got Chicago and over half the class wanted it.
