JetBlue Latest and Greatest
New arbitration update says that while the union is committed to enforcing our contract, they are also following membership direction to obtain career protection.
It sounds like the MEC is merely using the data obtained from pilots which was collected before the recovery. That was a time when furlough was still a threat which makes that data irrelevant as the situation has changed.
It does not sound like they have adjusted their playbook to match reality which would be unfortunate. Perhaps I am reading too much into that one sentence, and I hope I am wrong.

No, you’re not reading too much into it. They didn’t adjust their playbook, it’s ALPA playing par for the course getting steamrolled by the company with a weak MEC. I read the updates and it’s the same thing, we asked so we are waiting on a response from the company to say no.

Exactly right. At least 40 percent of the pilot group right now: “What labor dispute? I’m gonna not run the APU when it’s 90 degrees out, SETWA, make stand-ups and dumpster-dive because the company had a hard year with COVID. So what if the company is wiping it’s tail with most of our CBA, especially the vaunted Section 1”.

I’d rather make an arbitrator break a contract then agree to a one time 2% raise for raping our scope clause. Sets a very bad precedent
You’d think ALPA would be pushing harder than it sounds.
This isn’t even a gray area of Section 1. The company is on record saying the scope section needed modifications (LOA13) to make the NEA legal. Then they said they were going ahead with NEA even if we didn’t give them scope concessions. It’s a documented confession of wrongdoing before and after the fact. No way the arbitrator sides with Jetblue in a fair decision.
