In addition, you don't need work for someone to be driven away. Working with someone with an unfortunate combination of gross incompetence and hostility can make one look for opportunities elsewhere.
hopefully he gave a great exit interview blasting giggity.

Mike didn’t retire. And guys at Scott’s level don’t go down in responsibility for fun. He may have more upward mobility there. He was stifled at jetblue in his vision. And there was a falling out/disagreement about it apparently that caused a sudden departure according to someone I know who knows someone (so take it however you want). But yeah, I’m sure he just liked the climate in atlanta better and wanted to have less power and control and autonomy and be a lower level network guy than running the whole thing.

That makes sense. Question though. How do we know it’s this executive that’s driving everyone out? Is there substance to back that up or just pure conjecture? I mean, I know how we all feel about her. She doesn’t seem fit to run an airline by any measure.

Mostly 2nd and 3rd hand “I heard from _____” stories. I talk to a guy who knows someone who is in a position to know. That’s where I get some of my info, and it’s usually legit, so I don’t doubt this info either. It’s also mentioned on other non-pilot forums, like a.net. That said, I’ve talked to her, and she seems nice. Who knows how she is to her direct reports though.

And I think in the pocket session where some cart donkey was whining to her that pilots don’t clean, she said “send me their name and I’ll address them personally” or something to that effect, was also meaningful in employee (especially pilots’) negative perception of her. President and COO is going to chastise a pilot for not cleaning and airplane? While the operation is a mess? Sounds like a great thing for a high level executive in charge of the operation to spend time and energy on.

sure, someone leaves being an EVP to go be one of 50 VPs, not on the earnings call, three rungs down…

and what vision of his wasnt being executed? Putting all our eggs into the AA basket? Cramming the northeast with more flying? Not buying a **** ton more airplanes? I get everyone likes him because at the pocket sessions he likes to answer pilot “why arent we flying to STL” questions, but it seems to me (and I talk to people too) that he got everything he wanted, was promised the world, and still tapped out.

PM me. Glad to talk more.

How big/senior is the orlando base? Trying to determine between Jetblue/Spirit/SWA for a florida base career.

Not trying to keep you from applying but Orlando is our smallest , most senior base with very limited growth prospects . Maybe that will change at one point but if your whole decision making process is centered around being based in MCO as quick as possible I’d say SWA or Spirit is your best bet. good luck .

Good to know thank you. Is FLL considered a junior base or not so much anymore?
