You meant the first time they have been properly staffed. Not suppose to run an airline on reserves. Reserves are exactly as the name indicates. Now the effiency on how they use reserves is abysmal.

a large part of that is CBA and 117 duty limits. 2.5hr callout, plus 1hr before departure, plus a 5-7hr to operate a flight, along with a 1hr buffer on the back end (don’t forget to include the 15min debrief for CBA limits). After all that there isn’t much room for delay before you go illegal.

I completely agree with you that an airline shouldn’t be run on the backs of reserves. However that hasn’t been the JetBlue formula for my tenure. Could the change be recent management changes (which bring a different approach towards reserves/staffing) or are we ramping up staffing for deliveries that don’t seem to be coming at the pace that the order books say? Either way my beard is getting long and my 2 day visit to JBU is rapidly approaching 😂😅🥲

No doubt. Imagine the outside world trying to wrap their minds around the fact you can stay home and make 280-300 grand a year 😂 come in every so often to operate the jet

Enjoy it while it lasts. I’m sure it will swing back the other direction and we’ll be in the opposite position.

My guess is he drops his schedule via the tradeboard and then VDAs the whole month. Works great if you get a called a couple times, but if they don't call, you stay home with no pay.

Either that or trolling.

Or he’s simply sitting LCR from the left seat

Yes, but probably sits RSV during the week and tries to RSA/VDA all weekend. Which hasn't been happening anymore. I believe that's what he does.

Either way, he has a full beard, not getting called either on his LCR days nor any VDA days he might have put in (like you said isn’t happening for now) for and making 280+. That won’t last long though. But still to contradict todd1200 currently is completely plausible.
