The very idea that we should celebrate the little victories(as gigity penned in her letter to the employees) strikes a cord. It suggests that we are unable to master the idea of a well run operation and therefore be pleased in the effort rather than the execution. This is the mentality driving the airline.
When we have an operation at the bottom of the barrel and the foremost concern of our newly appointed Chief Operations Officer is to affirm her focus on culture... there might be a problem. What's energizing to me isn't singing Kumbaya but making a meaningful contribution to an enterprise I can be proud of, and being appreciated (rewarded) accordingly. I don't think I'm alone in this but it's been a long time since it's described JetBlue, if it ever did.

Gigity has been here long enough to remember when we weren’t a joke on The Today show or USA Today’s Travel section. We need new jets and a new plan. Where are we going? and How are we going to get there?
