Yea but then you still have huge variances in FDP between fleets. Doesn't fix the big issue there.

I’ve got good friends in just about every fleet (that happens after three decades - good golly that’s a long damn time scrubbing toilets for the rich and famous) and nobody is getting short duty days.

Short flight days, yes. Short duty days, no. There’s a lot of TNTV, on duty at FBO, and hotel Reserve to go around because it’s free. They need to tweak the code on conFusion to schedule more efficiently.

Yea honestly if they do put more money into duty days, it might get the company to give you guys more time off which would be such a huge boost to QOL.

FC has it right. The company doesn’t care about throwing the pilots a few more peanuts to fly that extra leg. Their pain point is when a pilot becomes unavailable. THAT hurts them. I say every rest period must be at least as long as the preceding duty period. That will fix 90% of the scheduling issues immediately. They’ll have to decide if they want you “available” today or tomorrow.

I don't disagree at all. In fact, I agree 100%. I am playing devil's advocate as the company's answer to pilot pay issues was FDP. It looked like a big raise but really was only to keep the metal moving and keep you happy while the metal moved. Clearly, for you guys, the honeymoon phase of FDP is over and while pilots in high FDP fleets have it better financially, it doesn't fix the cultural scheduling practices that plague NJA, in fact, it exacerbates it.

It is an uphill battle to fix those issues even during section 6 negotiations, but even more challenging given the current ability (or lack thereof) to negotiate. Crossing my fingers that you guys are unified enough to get it done, that's for sure!

I've been saying this for a decade. Don't forget, rounded UP to the next whole hour. 10:15 of duty? Minimum 11:00 off.

Funny how all the NJ union cheerleaders were saying the Flexjet pilots "dug their own grave", "shot themselves in the foot", and "signed their death warrant" when voting out their union, and now here we are splitting hairs between the 2 in order to decide which is the best place to work. Life improved for Flexjet pilots after they cured their cancer, and the union barnacles refuse to admit it.
Unions are a scam.

I'm sure this will get removed by a triggered mod.

Have fun over an entire career at Flex and let us foolish union employees know how you feel later on- like during the next economic downturn or any other time that pilots aren't in high demand. While the pay has improved over NetJets in many instances, we shall see how long this lasts. There are many former Flex pilots at NetJets and I would guess there are about zero former NetJets pilots at Flex. There is likely a good reason for this. The pilots I've heard from who left Flex to come to NetJets have noted distinctly worse daily quality of life at Flex- that has to be horrific knowing very well how bad it is at NetJets. That said, I haven't spoken with any of Red Label pilots that made the jump. Honestly, I can't imagine why anyone would want to go to work at either under the current conditions of pilot demand. Both choices are bad unless a career long horrific commute is the only other choice.
