I think it's too bad that in this industry only the negative points and not full picture are what make the rounds. I encourage everyone to read the full TA before calling us "the usain bolt to the bottom of regionals."

Exactly, I encourage YOU to read the full TA and understand the hidden B scale being offered.

Don't bother. He cant get past the part that says new jets. Look at the bullet points on stopthewhipsaw.com and notice how the good stuff is at the top and the crap is at the bottom. That's by design.

Everybody is so concentrated on "B scale vs no B scale" issue. While other concessions of this contract are left unnoticed

How is it not a concessionary contract, if by 2017 you will have to pay 35% of your health insurance vs the 29% now. Additionally the per diem will max at 1.75 vs the proposed 1.80.

Owh well who cares about 2017, right? "I won't be here by then, so I could care less..."

That's one of the reasons we look so bad! We should care about the future of the profession, not just the present! It doesn't matter who we work for, we should not accept ANY concessions at all! We worth much more than that!

I read the whole thing, it increases your medical cost, decreases perdium, freezes anyone who currently is outside the "new scale" that we won't call a b scale of 4 year FO 12 year captain. But it does bring 30 Large RJ at a blended rate that won't really pay much more and I haven't seen a fleet guarantee yet. Ohh and locks you in for 10 year all the while they can't hire replacements but offer you a guaranteed interview. The regional will shrink due to SCOPE and supply of pilots. If the merger happens it is likely that DCA slots will be reduced and this will come at the expense of 50 seaters.

Meanwhile US Airways reports record traffic and a record month for the month of August. People say that US Airways profitability has nothing to do with the regionals, well regionals operate over 50% of the flights for US Airways and move a significant number of passnagers, so I say you so have something to do with their profits. These are concessions and the creation of a new pay scale for people not currently outside the pay scale in exchange for a guarantee interview and larger airplanes being flown for less. This hurts all of us in the industry and just because you think you'll end up at mainline sooner and won't feel the pain. The whole concept of I will upgrade before I hit the top of the scales argument is BS, you are selling your self short and everyone else. The regionals will see movement but you will see well over 400 airframes parked over the next 2 years or so. SKW inc it self has to park 200 due to Delta and United SCOPE, AMR soon will have to retire 50 seaters to comply with the MOU SCOPE and we know the new AA contract will resemble Delta and Unite's contract so that will lead to many airplanes being parked. By allowing a contract like this to be implemented you are making it harder for mainline pilots as well when they negotiate.

Why the MEC would want to send this POS to the pilots is beyond me. Given the interview success rate of wholly owned pilots over the past year (approx 30%), who in their right mind would put their career in the hands of Airways HR dept? You guys are willing to freeze the pay of maybe half of your pilots? Forever? And there is no way to opt out? Are you kidding me??? The union's #1 job is to protect the pilots on the property. What is going on here?

Simple, your MEC goes to bed with management. They know that by sending that POS TA to the pilots, it has a very good chance of passing because the majority of the young guns(yes voters) are only focusing on the brand new shiney metal and upgrades. The Sr pukes(yes voters) dont care either way so it doesn't hurt them at all, so they get to fly new Shiney jets. Your MEC wins....

It will pass and PSA will be todays bottom feeder along with Repubic, Go Jets and Mesa.

I agree with what you are saying. But USAirways is too blame as well.
What makes this TA hard to vote Yes for is that I don't want to go to US Airways.
I would go from making $70-$80k having 3 weeks vacation, living in base to $35k. Commuting to PHL. With only 1 week vacation for the first 7 years.
I agree this TA is crap. But Airways has been crap for a long time. It's because of them that we get offered this garbage in the first place.

In other words, study hard and don't **** up after you pass the interview process and there's nothing to worry about.

Or at least that's the way I read it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Youre wrong read the ta again. Section 3 bulletin 4
