Is this really the argument you are trying to make? All your knowledge and wisdom leads you to this conclusion? Holy sh*t no wonder they walk all over you.

Yeah, because negotiations when you have 450 pilots and mostly 50 seat airplanes are exactly the same when you have 1,200+ pilots, a much tighter recruiting market, and mostly 76 seaters.

EXACTLY the same.

And 58% of a 450 pilot group is 260pilots,....... most of whom have already moved on to mainline.

Walk all over whom? Yes, they have little man syndrome. Management thinks they need to be tough at the table just to prove they are a big, bad, serious airline to the pilot group. They have huge egos in that they think they don't need to change how they're running things because they know best. Meanwhile, every other regional is adjusting to the changing market. What vast knowledge and wisdom do you have that leads you to some other profound conclusion? So far, I've never seen you actually provide any knowledge, just immature snarky comments with no proof or analysis sold as fact.

They are doing what they do because they can. So long as 70 airplanes are still arriving and upgrades start at 0 months, there is no reason to change anything. We'll just start back up at 60 new hires per month beating the door down. No changes required at the moment.

I certainly wouldn't stress about it though, its a real simple decision.

Personally, I think flow is stupid. All it does is drag out a miserable regional existence. The focus should be the destruction of regional airlines, the destruction of alpa at regionals. I wish people could smarten up and see this but pilots are really not that bright. It's not their fault though, they don't know any better. I mean think about it, who are your role models? Other pilots. This is why the company can walk all over you, they are smarter than you are.
So how did voting in a sub par contract focus on destroying the regional market? If anything it made it more sustainable for a while longer. You are right pilots (especially PSA pukes) are stupid.

That's my point. We will see if they are still coming to the door in a few months. The fast upgrade is over if people don't start moving off the top. Remember, we are supposedly staffed for all our aircraft, according to management. We are now hiring to cover attrition. I ask what attrition? The DEC will be out of here to go to other carriers, so that's less than 100 off the bottom of the list. Are we really going to lose 1000 Captains to keep the movement going? The fast upgrade is over and we can't hide it anymore. The bodies are going to stop showing up. The company could have thought ahead to prevent that but they want to be big toughies instead. Will AA allow us to fail? Probably not. It will be interesting to see what happens at the management level when we start falling off the rails in a year or so.

Fast upgrade is over? It is just getting started.......They are projecting less than two year upgrade for someone hired now with 0 121 time.

PSA can advertise that all they want. If they don't start abiding by our contract or give incentives beyond fast upgrade no one is going to come here. PDT and ENY have the same crystal ball upgrade predictions with better pay and a much better prediction of getting to AA. The good ship PSA has sailed until they can figure out how to competitively recruit.

With the caveat of we'll see what's in this new flow.
