There are evidently already LCA's and sim instructors that are flying in the right seat just to cover flights.
No rumors at all that would back that up. Our seniority list has only gone down by 10 or so over the last 3 months, so it's not like there's a mass exodus. Downgrades are crazy talk.

We're still accepting airframes until we hit 115. We're just having issues keeping up with attrition and we're not hiring 60/mo like we were a year ago, which is feeding some of the panic.

The only LCA flying in the right seat are the ones doing IOE. Sim instructors are only right seat qualled in the Sim. Zero discussion on downgrades because we are slightly over staffed for the next handful of aircraft. And we are currently not hiring 60/month by choice. I'm sure they'd like to be getting more than they are though.

We've deferred and slowed down aircraft delivery. Not hiring 60 a month by choice? Nice spin and complete BS.

What are you citing as BS?

Not hiring 60 a month as a choice. It's great spin to cover the fact that no one is showing up. PSA would gladly take 60 a month if they showed up. Then they wouldn't have to slow and defer deliveries. Their dream machine would still be chugging along. Every gimmick that was getting pilots here has stopped and all the garbage they've offered since hasn't changed anything.

That CVG staffing has really met the mark. ORD as the latest rumor is too late. Pilots can be based there and earn twice as much with other companies. I guess the 20 year flow will really get them beating down our door.

Gotcha. I thought that was in response to my post above, but see it wasn't. I agree. I think they would gladly take 60/mo to staff their fleet plan and get us up to 1500 pilots, but that's not going to happen soon.

Since Parker said pay rates aren't going to change anytime soon, the only tool they could use is to open another commuter-friendly hub base.

I agree that will be the next gimmick/carrot but if you're going to commute to a friendly hub, why would you work for PSA at half the pay? What hub base could we announce that we aren't already second fiddle in?

PSA has had a net loss of pilots of 16. The have had about 12 new hires and 28 resignations this year. I posted the exact numbers in another post.

I spoke with a scheduler on the day that they were calling out LCA for right seat flying. It's not a rumor, he told me they were being well compensated for their efforts. I don't know if that is a common occurrence or just happen on that one day.

Maybe not hiring 60 per month is by choice, but I'm pretty sure they would like to average more than 4.

Personally, I received a call from Endeavor yesterday and I will certainly be attending the interview in the event PSA does decide to downgrade. May leave anyway just for the better commute and contract.

DCA would be a logical choice given how much flying and overnights we do out of there, but that's my opinion. ORD would open up more for guys commuting out west, but you're right, there's not much incentive for coming here other than flow.

My info says that the company stopped publishing seniority lists, so no one can tell what the attrition really is. But, on the last one, there were still dozens of people listed that no longer work for the company. Also, in the last few months, more FOs are resigning than captains.

They also say that fhe company is junior manning FOs almost every day.
