When the queue of requests gets really backed up, the company starts manually approving/denying trades. Some of the denial responses gives it away. The union might deny this, but it's because the company lies to their face and they are dumb enough to believe the company. It happens almost every SAP and our union has a very loose grip on what's actually going on during the SAP in DAY. I've adjusted my expectations and don't get worked up over a slow SAP when there's nothing I can do.

Hey F50.....Yes, you can swap reserve days for days off you need as long as you do not go below your min days off of 11. But, bear in mind that swapping your reserve days does depend on the reserve grid. If the particular day you want to trade is below reserve coverage for that day then it will not get approved. The reserve grid used to be somewhat accurate but the company does manipulate it to their advantage to prevent days from going critical.
I had a specific day that I wanted off this month on reserve. I was able to swap 3 days and one was still in the red. They definitely manipulate the grid, but sometimes it can work out in your favor. I checked it every day and finally, someone picked up an opentime trip and it allowed me to swap out of a day that I needed. I got 4 days off over memorial day weekend, which isnt bad for someone at the bottom of the totem pole.

Also, if you live in base and want to make money, move your reserve days around to give you a long stretch of days off. Whatever trip you pick up on your days off is added on top of guarantee.

Glad to hear that worked out for you. Also, as a last resort if the day doesn't go green, e-mail the sched supervisor and see if they can move it for you. Again, that's a last resort effort, but it has worked for me in the past.

Indeed I was hoping that I could make a longer stretch of days off then 3 in a row.

Hey newbie, I never said I would give you my name, I said I'd contact you when our schedules coincided. You assume too much and make up to much. We have met, you just don't realize it.
There is much that could be better at PSA. having said that, it is so much better now than 10 or 12 years ago, oh that's right you were flying helicopters or was it dreaming of flying helicopters?
I try to be positive and do my part to make PSA a better place. Oh that's right, you have no interest in making PSA better. To each his own. I call bull**** when I see it which is about 50% of your posts. If that is carrying managements water, so be it. I dislike liars and newbs who know nothing but try to sound tough on the internet. Don't look now but your ass is showing.
