100% correct. AA knows the model they tried has failed. This was a last gasp to buy some time before they really had to open their wallet.

We have no leverage.
The flow is only designed to work for the top 350 people .
I think the major airlines are waiting for a regional to go bankrupt that's why they want to give bonuses instead of pay raises.
All Junior pilots need experience or they're living off the hopes and dreams.
Yes hopes and dreams is what American is selling.
For the flow to really work we need around 40 pilots to be hired per month. At current levels we still need 20 to 30 pilots to be hired per month for the growth that's expected. We do not have enough current flight instructors wanting to come here to sustain that model. The only other option is to raise pay to get corporate pilots or charter pilots to come here.
I truly believe American is banking on the fact that someone will go bankrupt and nobody will have any choice but to come here or explore other options overseas.

Look at the current numbers required per month to hire to make the flow acceptable to make it a success.
Everything that I've seen here either means the flow isn't supposed to work or there's an all terrier motive to fill these classes.

Then look at someone with experience their projected to flow anywhere from 6 to 11 years with the retirements at American. The retirement numbers will dictate that you're a senior first officer for life.
Look at the pay rates of LLCs expanding can you be a senior captain there and make the same money as a senior first officer at a legacy.
Unless they make major changes to the flow and the hiring practices It's not very useful to people with experience.
A Ponzi scheme only works if everybody plays along with the scheme. So for it truly to work all new hires to American have to come from three wholly-owned Airlines. Or seniority numbers need to be given out to everybody on property and new hires. Neither of these two things will ever happen so they're selling hopes and dreams make your choices wisely.
If PSA works for you base wise or you believe in the system of flow it's not a bad airline to work for they have some good people here.

None of the WOs are able to hire. Envoy had 12 new hiresfor the month of May. I don't know what we had, but we lost 17 in April. Piedmont can't hire enough to grow at the pace they wanted to. Looking at it now (hindsight and all) I think the flows were/are designed to remove the top-paid CAs off of the seniority lists. And once that is done they likely will modify them or stop them somehow. I could be wrong, but at this rate, I don't see how they are going to properly staff any of the WOs. And if we can't staff, we don't flow.

Buddy of mine told me once that Flows are nothing but a big carrot to keep pilots around. He is right.

Totally agree. Wonder what they will offer in exchange for the flow. OR if they will just stop it and tell us to grieve it.

Look at Capeairs CEO used to be American pilot then he works for JetBlue prior to Cape air. He is part of the regional airlines pilots Association. Flows were his idea. Now JetBlue has scratched the idea and went with training people from day one.

I should say his idea which is an old idea to solve the current problem of poor pay.
