I interviewed a month or so ago; they offered me the job on the spot and I picked my class date then and there. They will give you a few days to talk to your family if you need to but I knew that's where I wanted to go so I accepted when they offered.

WOW, on the spot class date! You must have really impressed them. The 26 month upgrade is reasonable I would assume. I'm working out the final details in regards to when I will be traveling out for the interview but it will be this month. I'm shooting for Knoxville or Charlotte. Both are easy commutes for me.

Keep in mind it's not 26 months for new hires. Guys in my class are coming up on 2 years and looks like they are still at least a year away from upgrading.

Yes what he said. These guys are high 400 and low 500's on the list. We have 1100 pilots. There are probably 150-200 captains junior to them.

Also know that we can't continue to upgrade 16/month if we're only getting 8 new hires per month to backfill those vacated F/O seats.

Upgrade times will continue to climb at PSA. Meanwhile, you can upgrade as soon as you're eligible at places like Commutair, TSA, and GoJet. Oh, and your pay will be higher there as well.

Oh ok I understand now. Well I'm still looking forward to the opportunity. I just hope it all works out because PSA will allow me to be closer to home. Needless to say I'm pretty excited.

Hes right here, but upgrade times will get crazy about the time they come up on all those DEC's, and the CAs that came in and upgraded straight away. Right now, the upgrades are in the bulk of the guys who came to PSA as probably their first (or maybe second) and just didnt have the time yet to upgrade when they were desperate for Captains back a year and a half ago.

Also, keep in mind a lot of people do not want to upgrade to cvg. Cvg will go to people junior on the list for the most part. This will skew the perspective upgrade time. I've been here almost three years and I'm still waiting. If someone wants DAY or CVG they will upgrade much faster than those of us wanting CLT or TYS.

Dont worry about the excitement. It will wear off very quickly, trust me.
You will need to be acclimated to the PSA WAY of doing things.
