Dude, its the pay that just doesn't sit right, first year with potentially no time in a jet making $ 52-$53k where as an experienced 2nd or 4yr FO will make $ 46K including the retention bonus. How does that make you feel when you work in a seniority based system, where pay and QOL is dictated by your hire date. You're not valuing yourself or the leverage you have if you accept this idea of stepping down in pay.

If you're still on FO pay after 4 years at PSA you've either chosen to stay an FO or have done something seriously wrong.

So let me get this straight now a FO that has just started making 2nd year pay will make $40 an hour and get a $20,000 bonus. So for one year say the FO holds a 90 hour line he will make $40 an hour x 90 hours x12 months = $43,200 a year plus $20,000 in bonuses so $63,200 that year. A CA on let's say 3rd year pay that is still on reserve will make $69 an hour x 75 hours a month x 12 months = $62,100 a year. So a second year FO can make more than a 3rd year CA? I know it's only for one year the FO gets that bonus but still. Also there is no difference in pay from an FO thats on 2nd year pay and 3rd year pay. Too all the FOs that are on 3rd year pay and about to upgrade let that sink in. Second year FOs will make the same as you while you're an FO and even the first year you upgrade. Sounds like also if you don't upgrade by the time they sign this in you won't even get the $7500 retention bonus for CAs.

They call it a $20,000 bonus because it's $10,000/year over two years.

Ya off on my math a little then but that's still under a $10K difference between second year FO and 3rd year CA potentially. Still the fact that there is no pay difference between 2nd year FO and 3rd year FO doesn't seem fair.

You are correct, it all depends how you run the numbers.
Basically all NON first year f/o' would go to 4th yr pay and are maxed out if not wrong, there is a 4 yr pay cap for f/o's. first year f/o's go to 38.50 p/hr, then after first year they go straight to 4th yr pay, raise of 1.78 p/hr and they sit there until upgrade.

So how did Doug Parker become a CEO and you 'just a pilot'? Its entertaining to read you guys who are Monday morning executives. I just joined this forum and already want to run, wow what a dysfunctional group. I was really looking forward to a future career fly...but a few of you guys scare me.

You seem confused about the TA.

New hires will earn $38.50/hr min 75hr/month plus $15,000 bonus. After their first year they goto $40.28/hr plus $20,000 total paid out at $2,500 every 3 months or until they upgrade.

Current FOs will be paid $40.28/hr min 75hr/month plus $20,000 paid $2,500 every 3 months or until they upgrade.

Most junior FO line holder CLT May '15.

Captains will get an extra $7,500 paid in 3 $2,500 installments starting Jan 1 2017.

Current upgrade is July '15 and increasing. YMMV

But doesn't a 2nd year FO and a 3rd year FO still make the same amount? As upgrade times increase and FOs make it into a 4th year won't they then be making less than 2nd year FOs? Also if you upgrade a day after they sign this TA in it sounds like you won't be receiving the $7500 bonus. It seems like close to upgrade FOs could possibly be the ones really not seeing much from this. If you're on 3rd year FO pay then you only get about a dollar an hour raise while all over FOs get a significant raise. These 3rd year FOs also won't see but one or two of the bonus checks because they will upgrade and then if they upgrade after the TA is signed they won't get the $7500 bonus? Just trying to understand this.
