Current upgrade is at July 2014 (3yr pay). Yes they do not get a lot more in this TA but as you pointed out they can upgrade soon which is a big increase, especially since they will be line holders right away.

I know some want to find the negative in anything but this really is a win-win. AAG needs to attract more pilots to their regionals, and they're paying for it. New pilots get enticed with higher pay and current pilots get more money than they signed up for without loosing anything.

Yes AAG is making record profits, yes they can afford to pay us more, and yes we deserve more. But this is money for nothing! Cmon, if only the chicks were free...

PSA just went to a 12/2 pay cap.

For people considering coming here, understand this. You will receive 38.50 your first year, with a 15,000 bonus. Your second year your pay rate will go to 40.28, but you will have no retention bonus, essentially taking a 10,000 pay cut. Oh and the 40.28 pay rate is also for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year rates. Then you upgrade at some point, and you will receive no retention bonus cause it's for CAs at the time of this agreement.

This was a kick in the nuts for 3rd year FOs. Even with the retention bonus new hires will make more, and now 2nd year guys will be at the same pay rate as them.

AA First Quarter Profit: 1.2 Billion, and you want to jump up and down about maybe a $ 4K - 5K increase. You clearly don't get it man, part of the problem. I'm tired of trying to teach these kids, any sensible logic. Enjoy as the new hire FO walks by you making an extra $ 10K a year. Hopefully your still jumping at that point, maybe he throws you a bone..

Basically what you're looking at is AA nickel and diming us once again. They opted to do the minimum necessary and only affect the initial new hires yet again. Every MEC union should reject this LOA and stand united for a real change, not this BS.
^^^^^^ Here's a guy who gets it! ^^^^^^^^^^

This "offer" is simply more "gimmickry", courtesy of AAG. It's more TEMPORARY dressing on a widening wound. FIX THE DAMNED PAYSCALES!! Enough with the bandaids!

Imagine this: The MECs (all three) say "no". Then what? Do you think that AAG will simply say, "Well alright! We're just going to keep things the way that they are and hope we can continue to attract (and retain) pilots."???? Hell no!! AAG NEEDS this deal more than WE do! THEY need to attract new pilots!!! We are simply putting in our time until we get the next call.

The point is this: We would *LIKE* more pay but they *NEED* to attract more pilots. They can (and would have) done better,..... if we would have MADE them do better.

Man, the harsh realities here almost make me empathize with you. Truth is, we all sleep in the bed we make. I'm sure your day will come...just not sure today is that day. Enjoy the bump in pay while you wait for your call to the big show!

Republic plus 5%, with 3% increases yearly until the next contract is ratified.

It's not just about me, (and you). It's about improving things for the generation that follow us. We expect that from Mainline pilots. Why do we not hold ourselves to the same standard?
