Quote: Moving to higher paying equipment doesn't incur a seat lock. Only lower paying equipment and initial upgrade incur one.
Right, so the 900-200 upgrades in the last year couldn't hold ATL should they want to. Not sure if the number is high enough to matter though.

Absolutely, and that's why I said I understand. Often, the written word comes across as very harsh/brash, and the writer doesn't contemplate how every reader will take it. Consider that you read it in an EDV thread, and not a XJT thread. I assure you he meant no ill will. None of us do. We only want the best for you guys, same as for ourselves. Sorry if the words stung, the sentiment doesn't, I promise.

Quote: No anger here thus no vent. I know it's not the pilots decision where aircraft end up. I've seen lots of aircraft come and go in my 16 years here. However, if the shoe were on the other foot, would you not feel as I do about someone speculating that they "may" receive the last of your fleet?

12 planes, not 20, but the XJT planes are coming one or two per month, so the other 3 bases will have to lose a few in the interim. Overall, the 200 fleet will grow by 12 this year. That's 120 more pilots needed just to support those birds.

I agree, MEM to ATL already has a lot of old NW pilots, so the competition will be... interesting to say the least.

Quote: We're not losing airframes. DTW and MSP will get more 200s when they leave NY. Most of ATL is from XJT and from what Gumm said it's about 20 200s. If you figure 5 crews per airplane and 200 crews. So the shuffle begins. If DTW and MSP lose flying it is only temporary until the 200s from NY are available. Also Memphis to Atlanta is not very commutable unless you like driving.

I seriously doubt anyone would hesitate over the money. Ever. QoL will blow the money out of the water, as will one extra turn picked up in OT.

Quote: The other question lingering in my mind is, how many current 900 CAs would bid down to the deuce for ATL and take the resulting loss in pay? At the top, that's $450.00/mo loss just based on guarantee.

You're correct- LOA 47 amended Equipment Freeze language.

According to RG its close to 200 pilots and 100 FA's by the end of the year.
That's probably more than 12 AC and probably closer to 20???

Oh yes you are. 200s will not grow at all in DTW. MSP has a massive drop in APR followed by a slight increase MAY. ATL goes from 460 in APR to about 900 departures in MAY. I wish I could do the math.

So, the latest email says ~10 lines each for DTW & MSP 900, 40-45 JFK/LGA 900. How many pilots does that roughly translate to?

You can debate that with RE and RG. That's what they have said so when that day come when there are no 200s in NY then those not in ATl will be. In MSP and DTW according to them.

For those of us seat locked on the 200, how would the potential removal of 200's from NY affect those of us who want to remain in NY?
Does their removal from NY also remove our seat lock and allow us to bid for 900 Captain positions in order to stay NY based?
