Delta hit a snag in it's regional hiring (us) and wanted to sort out this contract to make us attractive again to keep the ball rolling for the uplift in aircraft they want us to fill. That is all. So, let's see what they give us in that effort. If we say no, they will either give us more or Comair us. The latter is not a viable option as it used to be given the current market for regional pilots.

We need to talk about real problems here at the airline. Why do my CVG overnights now have me back at the bloody Doubletree prison instead of the Radisson downtown with activities? WTF We had good food, good views, and entertainment... now I get a $15 salad or dinner from the airport.

Looks like the best we can ever hope for is the scraps of hand-me-down junkers, while other DCI carriers get the new airplanes that have a long future ahead of them. OO gets 15 more 175SC (for a total of 30) to replace the 30 ASA 70 seat CR7s.

Delta would be a fool to purchase their own aircraft for regional feed when others are willing to purchase the aircraft (take on the liability)for them. This is a win/win for Delta, better aircraft at no additional risk. It's not like OO "gets 15 more" OO put their necks on the block and purchase them. Delta says "sure we will let you fly out passengers in your shiney new jets."

I’m not arguing either way. I’m pointing out that your ridiculous “it’s unfair” statement is whiny and points to entitlement. Since you haven’t gotten it yet, my point is, life is not fair. Someone is going to be happy and someone is going to be unhappy no matter which way this goes.

Were you here during the bankruptcy? Did you attend the roadshows? If you did, you would know what I’m referring to. Maybe you ignored the BS that was fed to the group, but many people didn’t.

They have already said no twice to these guys. This is the reason Delta will not provide a flow to this company for a long time, the first group of guys are people that they didn't want. Flowing them would probably cause a lot of problems for Delta. These guys rightfully have a chip on their shoulder about Delta, they were rejected and no one likes to be rejected. Delta said no to many of these guys because they wouldn't be good for Delta, I found who were rejected just didn't fit into an airline who's focus is customer service and professionalism vs. price. (If that statement offends you, you are one of the guys who I understand got the double know. If you understand the statement I'm sorry you are probably the 1:10 that Delta let get away) Anyway flowing the senior guys to FO's right now would probably be a bad idea for both Delta and the pilots in both the short run and long run. The only way a flow will happen is when this group is greatly reduced by attrition and time heals the wounds.
I would say more than half of the 8 year plus pilots
Haven't interviewed at Delta. They may see that as a double
No but it's not.
Many double no's have already left for other greener/major
Pastures.
However how many NWA pilots were interviewed and not hired by
Delta? We don't know but I would imagine it's in the hundreds.
With that said Delta will decide who they hire or not. We cannot
Negotiate a flow only wait in case they change their minds.
