He will probably be hired well before a great majority of captains at SkyWest as well if he keeps up this level of interest. There are so many CAs here who had applied a leap year ago and update every three months, they do not attend job fairs and do not volunteer. I think the captain that wins the Darwin Award is the guy who complained nonstop over a four day trip why United isn't calling...upon probing a little further, he hasn't even applied!! No wonder that they're taking young, motivated FOs over lazy dinosaur captains.

I my friend just got a class date at the big D, not even 2500 hours TT, a few years shy of 30 too. it was a guy too. He had a masters FWIW. The competitive requirements are slowly shrinking. An AA LCA said they expect to drop the PIC requirement by the end of the 2019

What is AA's PIC requirement?

Never said I was getting hired at a major but last I checked having your app in 5+ years compared to 1 year is a lot better?? Sorry I figured that out. Again, cut the personal remarks. It's rather childish.

Thanks to everyone backing me up.

Can anyone on this forum just accept maybe someone has a different opinion than theirs without making a personal remark? I generally get along with everyone here. Sounds like I ruffled some feathers just saying you can log it? Mainline apps will have you clarify the difference anyways.
Someone came in here looking for advice on logging SIM time. Rick gave solid, industry-accepted practices. You then said he was being dramatic. Look. Nobody said logging it the way you have is going to cost you a job, but in this highly competitive market, details matter. If you think the instructors at Skywest or anywhere else have your future interests in mind you will be disappointed. What you CAN log and what you SHOULD log have always been vastly different things.

True. To each their own, really. It would surely be easier to do it the way Rick suggested and not have to explain anything. It would also look more professional.

All I know is what is publicly available information. SkyWest, Mesa and Republic were contracted to deliver 12 175s each in 2017. SkyWest has delivered 9. Republic has delivered 1. Mesa has delivered 0.

I have to believe there is a reason we keep the IAH base, and the only reason I can think of is increased flying for United.

What happened to the SAN base? Lol. Rumor is that is 30 AA 175s, not 20. Why downsell Skywest? I will check back on May 20th, but I won't hold my breathe.

Wish I had done this, but then again, I was caught in the lost decade. I've had a few friends keep their apps up to date at majors when times were tough even. They got scooped up right away at places like US Airways when no one else wanted to go there. I have another acquaintance who will probably retire in the single digits at Delta if not number one.

...and now they're at AA laughing it up as the money rolls right in.
